New Job

I received a promotion to a new division, but i'm really scared that I am going to blow it. I will be working 8-5. Why on earth did I accept it!!! The added stress and now working during the day. I normally work in the evening while most people are sleeping, and I sleep doing the day in a dark room. I sometimes feel like a vampire. Now I must be the dumbest person in the world to accepted this, but for that moment I forgot... Who forgets??? I can already feel the migraine coming on. I am in deep xxxx. I have been feeling better lately, but i'm going to loose all the ground i've gained. How am I going to cope? And if I can't ...I have to explain to them why I change my mind or maybe they won't let me. Nobody but my current manager knows ................................I was excited about the job, but now I am scared... Scared of failing and scared of getting worse......

Ps I haven't thought about my ex for 5 days.....The one good news

Hi there! Breathe deeply and relax! Smile feel better?

I know *exactly* what you mean about the vampire issue. I have severe sleeping issues, myself.

About the job, if you go into it with this much stress you just might make yourself sick, and that would not be good for *you* not the job.

If you were/are feeling better enough to accept the job, then take it as your body meant it. It was having a better time. That is something to be very happy about.

Have you spoken to your doctor about your sleeping issues? There are several things that they can give you that are *not* addictive. I know they have helped me several times.

You are not dumb...That is not the way to think about yourself. You are sick, not dumb. Remember that...And don't let anyone else get away with that either...

Also, there are *serious* laws out there to protect you from being canned because of being sick. While it is not necessary for your colleagues to know, it does *sometimes* help. Your boss knowing is a good thing. They can help you with peers that may feel you are getting preferential treatment (days out, etc.)

be very forward and let your boss know about the good and bad days. Also, you may want to consider giving your boss some pamphlets about lupus so that they know *exactly* what you are dealing with.

Keep that promoted head high and be proud!
Hugs,

Hi there and congradulations Exclamation I also took on a promotion and was very nervous. I felt I was too old (46) to start learning something so different, etc but I was approached in my company and interviewed and got it so I am assuming they have faith in me and you must have interviewed for your job and sometimes people see something in us we don't. So don't panic - and just try and do your best. I know I had a awful stressful job 2 years ago when I was hospitalized and diagnosised with the lupus and I never want to have that happen again, so just be calm and have the same faith in your work that others have.
