Unfortunately, you have to get thru them. They need to take samples of blood which are mandatory. The only one you can resist is the one for hiv/aids, lol trust me I was going crazy too.

They said that everything was fine from the ultrasounds and everything, and if while in labor I opt for something thats fine, thats totally differnt then sitting there and them giving it to me...I cant handle it, and to tell you the truth in the early beginning I thought about ending it all becasue of the needles

I dont think that I could have handled knowing that something like that was wrong, I would never abort it because of it, but I dont think that my emotions and heart would be in the right place if I knew that something like that was wrong. Now ill just be happy no matter whats wrong with her instead of been thinking about it for the past however long.

Well, if you don't want to take preventive measures then, by all means, refuse the testing. But it's better to know what's going on. They need to take samples of blood to test for things that could be life threatening. Like gestational diabetes....That's a condition that has to be determined through blood tests and if you do end up with it but refuse to find out, you, your baby, or both of you could die from it. Carrying a child is no cake-walk. You're going to have to stand up to your fear. It's best for you and your child. You'd do anything for your child, right?

Wow...I hope you were tested for strep b, seeing as you haven't gone to your appointments since they started talking about needles. If you start getting dehydrated they are going to have to put a needle in you. And I really hope to god that you don't have strep b and that you were tested for it, cause you can end up having a blind child and other problems with a child who is delivered nad the mother has this. Good luck to you adn you're going ot have to deal with the needles. You should have thought about that before getting pregnatn, instead of risking your child's health like that. That's very selfish of you. Maybe you should have kept your legs closed. I know that sounds mean, but you're a selfish mother!!

I agree it's kind of selfish. I mean, I have an anxiety disorder so I know what it's like to be irrationally scared of something that others view as "no big deal"....And I honestly don't like going to the doctor. But I never let that interfere with my child's health. I did all the tests that were required of me (even though I was scared, like the gestational diabetes test) because I wanted to make sure my child and I were healthy and would be ok. If you'd do anything for your child, you should be willing to face a fear of needles.

A lot of people have fears or phobias. Their is such a thing called e.M.D.R. That has helped a lot of people, it is done by a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, it is painless and you get a super nice feeling afterwards.
Please have your baby checked, just avoid looking at the needle and thinking about it and if you do pass out, someone there will help you.
I used to be the same way with needles but now I must give myself injections for my pain and I give and receive blood tests because it is for the best, not the worse.
I just read that this is posted in october, sure hope you and the baby is o.K!
Sincerely,
sandy

I dont think you selfish but I would advise you to face you fears not just for you but for your baby you are not alone my sister was scared of needles but with a lot of suppurt she got through it and now she not the slightest bit scared of needles I really do think you should just go for it and be strong but I know how terriedfied you must be I feel the same.
