I have a problem of always picking at my
face. It started when I was younger, and
gradually worsened. My parents and
friends see it as nothing, as I try not to
do it in front of others. I'm always
taking one last look in the mirror, and at
the slightest sight of anything close to a
pimple or blackhead, i'm instantly picking
away. I wear make-up to cover the red
blotches I create, and am always checking
the mirror to make sure it's the least
visible as I can get it. I've read a bit
about similar habit disorders, obsessive
compulsive disorders, and body dismorphic
disorders, but I have no clue which it
could be, if any. I've recently come to
recognize it as a problem. I'll have
times where I can go days without, then I
instantly start picking again. I want to
stop, but don't know how. Can anyone
help??

If you feel that you have a problem, that
is enough to seek help.Talk with your
doctor and make it clear that this is not
a passsing thing,it has gone on for years
and you would like to address it.She/he
should be able to point you in the right
direction for help.Good luck to you.Patty
