Teenage Girls...can They Have Endo?
Posted: 10-29-04 23:20pm

I searched via internet for a cause of my pelvic discomfort and found that endometriosis fits my symptoms...The only ones I recall from my resource being lower back pain, pelvic pain, and nausea.

I know that "endo" isn't anything fatal, and it can sometimes go away within 2-3 months. I'm just wondering if all females, no matter what age, stand an equal chance of contracting this condition.

Is it true that the cause of endo is unknown? And that some women experience only a couple or no symptoms when they have it?

.............

Just wondering...Because the pelvic pain (which is still isolated to the left side) and the back pain are really getting on my nerves and ibuprofen doesn't help.

I had it since my period started when I was 13, the pain would get so bad it would make me pass out sometimes... When I got preggy with my daughters when I was 20, after delivery it kinda cured its self, so I no longer have problems with it.

Hmm well i'm not quite so desperate to cure this (assuming that is it endo) that i'm going to become pregnant.

I'll figure something out.

two words I noticed in your post were "teenage pregnancy" - that is definitely not the cause of my pain - I know because I am not sexually active. Granted, I was very sorry to read of your loss, but i'm not in your position. I have done my research on my symptoms and I have concluded that the culprit is either endo or ppod, or my yeast infection may have escalated to a higher level.

As for the current, though, I simply resort to a few daily doses of motrin ib and an antacid to cure my pain and queasiness. Don't know if it helps, but at least i'm making am attempt.

...........

I thank you all for your advice.

Teenage pregnancy part was irrelavant and you know it - that just happens to be where I post.

I know you are not in my situation as thankfully it is very rare.

I wanted you and your twisted little mind put in perspective.

Take it easy, killer. When I said I wasn't in "your position", I meant being pregnant, not the structure of your body that caused you such a loss. I know your condition is rare.

And do I have a twisted mind for being concerned about pelvic pain and nausea that appear out of the clear blue sky? My mind may be twisted for other reasons, but not for this. I can't help it if I have a low tolerance for pain - it's the way I am.

If you wish, kia, feel free to preach at me until your fingers turn purple and lose all feeling...I was not being sarcastic or offensive when I made my last post - I was simply making things clear to everyone. So, you don't need to bite my head off, though I seriously don't really care anyway.

If I were you scaredbaka id ignore kiabrieeze or whatever she calls herself she obviously has huge problems of her own and if she is going to take things the wrong way this is the wrong site for her and she shouldnt be giving out advice, she may need therapy.

For your information didn't post this message to any particular site - just added it to the last of scaredbaka's post's to be sure she would see it.

Do a search on author scaredbaka and then tell me who needs therapy.
I have one issue - my baby has been ripped from me in a life and death situation, I do not have one after another thing to add, unlike scredbaka's make-believe stories created for attention.

Also fit and well, the post was for scaredbaka not you and had no relevance to this particular post of her's other than as I said it was her most recent and therefore I could be sure that she would see it.

If I wanted attention i'd be much much more assertive. So i'm assuming now that being overly concerned about one's health is a crime now? I have unexplained nausea and pelvic pain that developed out of nowhere and not as a result of pregnancy...I think I have a right to be worried even a little.

I understand, kia, that you're deeply hurt by your loss, but you don't need to take it out on me. If you don't like what I post then do yourself a favor and don't reply - I know a lot of members like to rag on me about my past posts, but none more than you. I come here looking for answers and advice, not someone to chastise me for my health concerns. I have a lot of health problems going on now that came out of nowhere, and they seem to just continue coming. I can't help my desperation - my health is falling apart.

.............................

But I thank all of you who have helped me thus far. As I research deeper I find more potential causes of my pelvic pain, ranging from endo to pid to fibroids to ppod, but as of last week I have put my money on endo, because I have most of the symptoms, and I believe I could have actually had this since last summer when I began to experience morbid pain on the first day of my period, and only the first day. Prior to last june, I did not have a period for 4 months and there was no explanation for the lack of them. I am wondering if that could have been the onslaught of endo and the pelvic pain and nausea (assuming nausea is from endo) were just beginning to show their faces recently.

At some point I will get to a gyn, because I believe also that my yeast or bacterial infection from february of this year has evolved into something else - the itching has declined significantly, but I now have a snot-like discharge (snot-like in both consistency and color).

Scaredbaka, kia isn't taking things out on you... I'm not quite sure whats going on here, but how dare anyone ever insult kia. She's a nice person.. Ya'll need to let people breathe and not bit their heads off.

Kia's personal life has nothing at all to do with you, so why are you two bringing it up.

Scaredbaka, I dont kno whats ur history on here, if you are making up stories.. Then thats pretty childish.. Maybe kia was just making clear how frustrating it is to see people make pretend problems, when people like her are .A.C.T.U.A.L.L.Y. Suffering.

Fit and well....If you would read scaredbaka's posts on a normal basis you would understand why kia feels the way she does.

It seems a lot of you are very mistaken about endo. While pregnant most people get relief because the tissue doesn't thicken more during that time of the month, because you don't have that time of the month. Most people who have endo are never "cured". You can get it cut out, but it is like 90% or more likely that it will come back.
Yes, some women can have it and have little or no symptoms while others can be in very, very severe pain. A woman who has hit puberty no matter what age can have endo, yes.
Some women find it hard to conceive and some simply cannot when they have endo. Getting it cut out does increase the chance of pregnancy.

Endo does not just go away. Symptoms may go away, but that extra tissue growing in places that it shouldn't does not just disappear.

But as a heads up to any of you with endo. Your doctor will only cut it out a few times before a hysterectomy. So, if you aren't planning on having children quite yet and if you can live with the pain then I suggest waiting. I have a friend who had to have a hysterectomy at age 24. She had already had the tissue cut out three times and her doctor said no more. Good luck.

Look I dont come on here to have a go at anybody and I dont think anybody else should either, maybe some people think scared baka is making things up, if she is shes very foolish, but no one can prove she is and if she is she'll get her comeuppance one day when she really is ill. It just felt as if kia breeize was having a bit of a go at her and if other people read it it may put them off using this site thats all I was trying to say, now can we get off this subject and use the site for what its meant to be used for ie: to offer help and advice to people who maybe experiencing something we may have been through and not having ago at each other after all none of us are trained doctors or anything all we can do is offer support and understanding and hopefully reassurance to each other

I'm sorry but some of you people seem too dense - if you want to believe I come here and make up health questions for the sake of attention, then go right ahead and believe that. But I come here looking for answers to potential health threats from anyone who is either experiencing the same thing(s) or has had past experience with it.

when did I ever insult her? I don't even know her, so why would I need to resort to insults? I just get very annoyed with people who try and tell me that I am making up stories about very real health concerns. I admit openly that some of my posts, especially in the pregnancy forums, were made out of pure paranoia. But I have gained knowledge since then, and I needn't bother anyone with questions concerning that anymore.

And in my opinion, I think it's rather childish of people to automatically assume I am faking health problems because of their frequency.

For all I know any one of you could be making up fantasy tales of health problems. Somehow I sense insecurities about the forums that are being taken out on me.

...............................

If it makes you all feel better about yourselves, you can continue to poke fun at me - I do not bend very easily to insults; I hope that is not deterring to some of you who seem to have a burning passion for criticism, because I enjoy reading the petty things people throw at me - they make me laugh.

I had it when I was 12 and for 16 years I dealt with pain and bleeding and I even had my nerves cut in my loweer abdomen so I could not feel pain any more. Make an appointment with a doctor right away so the doctor can go over everything .

When I was having pain at first they could not see what was wrong, they thought it was all in my head too at first, but I told the doctor that there was something very wrong and he finally did test and did a laproscopy and found out that it was endometriosis. You got to try to find out . Don't be scared you need to know just in case it is something more serious. I f you have to see more then one doctor then do so but you need to know. I am from north bay ontario canada and the first doctor told me it was nothing but when I seen the second doctor he did everything to find out . I am here if you need to talk some more. Smile

I foyu look how long this girls posts have gone on for and that she will not go to a doctor - so many excuses have come up, you will see a clear cut case of munchausens syndrome.
I would love for her to get treatment, she needs it that's for sure but she just won't go and you can't help someone who won't help themselves.
