I posted a topic about 4 days ago about me
and my girlfriend having unprotected sex
and being concerned about her being
pregnant. I think I understand a womans
period and ovulation a little better but I
still had a question. We had unprotected
sex on oct. 4th. She called me on oct.
7th and said she had her usual period. If
women ovulate 14 days prior to their cycle
and thats when their most fertile what
does it mean if we had unprotected sex 3
days before her cycle and she had her
regular cycle as usual? How long is that
fertile period if she ovulates 2 weeks
before her cycle? Someone please help.

Dear jay,
if you had sex with your partner on the
oct. 4th and she had her normal period on
oct. 7th, there is no need for you to
worry. She is not pregnant. You had
intercourse 3 days before her period,
therefore it would have been highly
unlikely that she would have been fertile
on that day. A woman is usually fertile
14 days before her period is due, and she
will usually be fertile for about 3 days
at the most. Just remember it is possible
for a woman to become pregnant at any time
of the month, as no woman ovualtes at the
same time. 14 days before a period is
just a system we go by as that is the
"most likely" time of fertility. So use
contraception at all times.
