Can Gallbladder Cause Problems Lower Down? Posted: 10-30-04 16:13pm
Hi all. I have posted a few times and
have gotten a lot of good responses. In
case you don't know, i've been sick with
nausea and stomach pain for 4 years and
recently found out that my gallbladder
only has a 20% ejection fraction. I am
having surgery on nov. 4 since after so
many tests, nothing else has been found
wrong. I wanted to know if gallbladder
problems can cause other digestive
problems lower down in the digestive
system. Since about a year ago, I get
crampy intestines if I eat anything high
in carbs, like fresh fruit or pasta. I
don't have bowel movement problems, just a
crampy, colicky feeling in my lower
abdomen. The past few weeks it is there a
lot, no matter what I eat. The only thing
I have done differently was an herbal
treatment with my doc to try and get my
gallbladder working better (didn't work),
and this seemed to cause more problems.
Any ideas what may be going on? It almost
feels like menstrual cramps.
