My sister is having trouble with her
math.. And i'm trying to figure out how
to help her. But I cant figure out how
to solve these problems. Help anyone?
1. What number increased by 30% equals
260?
2. What number decreased by 33 and 1/3%
is 30?
3. Sixteen is 25% more then what
number?
4. Forty is 40% less then what number?
5. What is 50% more than 50?
6. What is 66 and 2/3% less then 45?
These are so dumb...

Omg, I am an fool. I tried to figure out
how to solve them and cannot. I haven't
had a math class in seven almost eight
years.
But I think #5 is 75. Because 50% of 50
is 25, so 25 + 50 is 75. But that is all
I know!

#1 I think is 200
200*.30=60
200+60=260
the .30
is the 30%

1. What number increased by 30% equals
260?
Ok. 260 equals 100% (our original number)
plus 30% which is 130%. So set up an
equation:
260/x = 130/100
x=200
2. What number decreased by 33 and 1/3%
is 30?
30 = 100% minus 33 1/3 % which is 66.7%.
This time the 100 is on the bottom,
because the number we're looking for is
bigger than 30. Sooooooo
30/x = 66.6666667/100
x=45
etc.
