Baby Shower Etiquette
Posted: 10-31-04 23:14pm

Does anyone know the etiquette for a second baby shower? I have a 5 year old son, had a huge shower. Did't plan on anymore kids for quite awhile, but low and behold....I'm on # 2. Most of the stuff from my son I lent out and it was returned in bad shape, or I gave it away, or it was borrowed to begin with. Is it rude of me to have another shower even if I already know this one's a girl? Would it look rude, like i'm looking for the same people to give me presents again? I'd like to have the shower for a fun girl get together, how would I let people know I don't expect gifts but they would be greatly appreciated?

Just my opinion. If your friends are wanting to give you a baby shower, that would be great, but to have your own would seem kind of tacky, or asking for someone to give you one would sound kind of strange too, just my opinion.
Check out second-hand stores sometimes they have things in their that have not even been used, yard sales, the newspaper, basement an attic sales.
Good luck!
Sincerely,
sandy

I see how that's tacky! But my boyfriends mom wants to have one for me. It's not the same father as my first son...So it's all new for their family. So, would it be alright for her to invite my family who already went to my first shower?

Heck yes, if someone wants to give you one, that's great, if you did not invite them, they might be hurt, and if they do not approve, they will not go, just enjoy & congratulations!
Sincerely,
sandy

I think every baby deserves his/her own shower. Every child is special.
