Break Down?
Posted: 11-02-04 10:40am

How would I know if i'm having a nervous breakdown? I feel like i'm on the verge of something. Every aspect of my life right now is going through major changes. Even though some are kinda positive, it's still stressful. I don't work right now because i've had panic attacks for 3 years that basically chain me to my home. I'm 6 months pregnant, unplanned....Scarry! My boyfriend and I fight constantly. My 5 year old sons father is a deadbeat. I'm moving across town in 2 weeks, we don't have a car. My son has to start a new school, it's so many changes for him. I'm broke. All my friends seem too busy in their lives to even sit and listen for 10 minutes. My family is close, and we just found out my 22 year old brother has leukemia, and he's in a treatment centre out of town. I hate to sound whiny, but at some point I have to ask for help. Obviously I have reasons to be stressed, but I don't feel like eating, and i'm so tired but can't sleep well. I have nightmares all the time and an almost constant stomach ache. So, should I see a doctor, or are there warning signs I should wait for??? What do I do??

Hey, thanks for the reply. I think I was just having an extra rough day that day and kept picturing myself sitting in a straight jacket in the end! I am on effexor, but I think you're right. I should talk to a counsellor. Thanks again!

Panic And Breakdown

I have had panic attacks since I was 17 I am 55 now, I take xanax for the past 20 years it does help alot, but I still can't drive or go traveling by myself, it is an awful thing, but if you can keep your stress level down the attacks will lessen, hope that helps a little, lindy
