Sorta Bad News, Just Got Back From My Ultrasound

I just got back from my ultrasound, baby
is measuring around 30 weeks which is 1
1/2 weeks ahead but their not gonna bother
changing my due date.
Their pretty sure owen is missing his left
kidney. They sent my ultrasound pics off
to a specialist and he's supose to contact
us this afternoon and let us know what to
do next.

Okay i'm no doc babe help me out! If he
doesnt have his kidney what will be the
out come? Dont ppl like donate their
kidneys? So wouldnt he be okay? Or does
he need it for like growing up purposes?
He'll be in my thoughts alootttt I know
this is hard trust me I dont want to fidn
out anythign is wrong with my little
one... But take it one step at a time

Thanks soo much for the prayers guys, it
means alot to us!
You only need 1 kidney to live, but they
have to make sure the kidney he does have
is strong. They also said something about
missing an adrenal gland or something like
that, and I guess that could cause some
problems. I have a huge list of questions
to ask the specialist when he calls.
They said that it's usually genetic to be
missing a kidney but as far as we know
neither side of our families has had this
happen, so we're gonna look farther into
it.
I had a feeling that something was wrong,
since my belly went from measuring 27
weeks to measuring 30 weeks in the matter
of 1 week. It can sometimes be caused by
excess amniotic fluid and that can be
caused by kidney or liver problems, so it
all makes sense.
I'll let you guys know when the specialist
calls!!

Hey girl! Sorry you got some bad news!
The good news is that tons of people walk
around everyday having only one kidney!
While its best to have two, you can get by
with just one! I hope the specialist is
able to answer all your questions! The
best thing you can do is just educate
yourself on whats going on! Everything is
going to turn out just fine! Let me know
if you have any questions I might be able
to answer...I dont mind at all! You guys
are in my prayers!

My nephew was born with one healthy kidney
and one bad one. They had to do surgery
on him at 10 months. It was hard, but he
was okay. I hope your little one is too.

I knew a girl in highschool in fact she
was one of the validictorians of my class
and she didnt have any kidneys. She had a
lot of dialasis!
