Ruptured Disk?
Posted: 11-03-04 12:10pm

Does anyone know about these? K this is gonna sound funny lol but its weird and true! Ok about 2 weeks ago I was on my way to work and I stopped to get those pics of dom u all have seen at walmart and as I was "walking" through the parking lot to get to my car I was still looking at the pics and some lady pulling out of her parking spot hit my in my lower back!!!! My back arched in and it was really windy and since it didnt hurt I didnt think it was a car I thought it was a cart lol so I turn around and she is looking everywhere goin did I hit something? And im flippin our sayin u hit me lady! So I let it be and like a fool didnt get any of her info since I wasnt hurt or anything. And then like a week after I am gettin these terrible back pains and im thinkin it could have been from my epidural from back in august and after an mri come to find out I have a ruptured disk!!! what? That is a serious prob. Im only 20 and I have to look forward to my back goin out when I lift somethin heavy. And to topp it off.... I never got the lady's info and im not sue happy like alot of peeps are but I know I could have gotten somethin from this cuz u dont get a ruptured disk naturally and I just know it was from her flippin car. I am so pi$$ed, I havent talked with the doc about my situation I go in sometime next week to discuss things about my back ect ect. ~ erica.

Awl.. I'm sorry. Damn that really sucks. Did he prescribe anything? Sometimes they'll give you stuff like darvocet or percocet for back probs and such. Those work pretty well depending on your body weight and tolerance to meds of course. Ask him for something like that. I am not sure if you would win the lawsuit because if something like that happens and you don't do something right away like get a police report.. The judges think you are just short on money and you are just thinking of whatever you can to get some money and if you didn't report it right away.. They assume you didn't care.. But you said you didn't want to sue so that doesnt' really matter but just to let you know.

Erica, I have I think the same thing. I was in a car accident last december. A few days before christmas. It wasn't my fault at all. So I am sueing the caca out of the guy that ran right over my car with his truck. I have not one not two, but three bulging discs in my back. Its almost been a year since the accident, I am only 17 and I will only have one back...So I am not going to settle for a long time, but what my doctor wants to do is give me epidural shots in my back..Full of steraroids to make it better. Thats what he is doing, also I have meds..Such as ibprofin that I have to take every morning and every night, the 2nd medicine I have are muscle relaxers. I had a mri to see what was wrong with my back, and it has to be the most uncomfortable pain in my life...It goes down all the way into my hip sometimes, so I can't get comfy. You should get into a really good orthapedic place.

Try a chiropracter sometimes when it acts up. That may ease some of the pain for a little bit. Not sure what they do there... I just know it is kind of an advanced massage specificially for those with back problems and such.

Thx for the replies. I know how the pain is it goes all the way down my thigh to my toes and yeah I know since I didnt go to the emergency room asap it wont matter. My doc told me that after any type of injury u usually really wont feel it until 1-2 weeks after the incident. Its awful I was helping a customer at work and we were talking and as I was talkin my back just started to get this terrible pain and I jerked and couldnt get my words out of my mouth she goes r u okay I said yeah excuse me my back hurts I was so embarrased. ~ erica.

I went to the chiropractor for almost a year...And it gave me some temporary relief, but they wanted to stop seeing me because they cant help me fully. Its horrible...That is horrible that you dont have any information from the girl that hit you...You are only going to have one back..And that is a lot of pain to be in..Sometimes you will never ever heal. I would have sued her ass...And normally I ain't like that.
