I was told not to take a bath before my 6
week check up. But I also was told to
abstain from sex, but me and my boyfriend
already had sex a couple of
times..........So it should be safe to
take a bath too right?

Sex wasn't a good idea..Lol.
 there are good
reasons for the recommendation not to have
intercourse immediately following
delivery, whether you've had a vaginal
birth or a c-section. The uterus and
cervix undergo significant changes during
the process of delivering a baby, and they
need time to heal. During this healing
phase the lining of the uterus, especially
the site where the placenta was attached,
is susceptible to infection. Intercourse,
douching, tampons, and anything placed in
the vagina may introduce bacteria, and
cause an infection. The flow of lochia,
which is a sign that the lining is
healing, can last from three to eight
weeks. When the lochia flow is no longer
bright red, it signals that healing is
near completion, and it's probably safe to
have intercourse again. However, if
you're still healing from an episiotomy or
vaginal tear, you'll need to wait longer
still.
 question: when can
I take a bath or a hot tub again after
delivery?
Answer: most care providers agree that tub
baths are safe immediately following
delivery. Taking a tub bath after
delivery can be therapeutic. The warm
water can soothe the episiotomy repair and
ease swollen hemorrhoids. It can also
help to ease the tension and fatigue that
go along with having a new baby at home.
If you have had a cesarean section, you
may be asked to wait a week or so until
your abdominal incision is well on the way
to healing. Talk to your care provider
for exact instructions.

You can't take a bath? What? Tessa's
been taking a bath since she was released
and she had a section.

I'm guessing that the moisture can cause
infection or something.

Ur not supposed to take baths but the big
part of that is because u cant let the
water sit in the tub too long because it
can cause bacteria to grow (like not even
a few min) so dont take long baths and
make sure u keep the water changing and u
should be ok but be careful anything
different feeling and call ur doc.
