Acne and Skin Disorders Forum - hydrogenated oils and acne

My brother told me a while back to look out for hydrogenated oils in foods. To make sure it isn't in whatever you buy. Well I didn't really look into it and wasn't too concerned with it. He hadn't really told me why it was bad or anything like that. Me being stupid I sort of blew it off. A little over a month ago now I had seen a ad for an acne free e-book that mentioned that inside it had an ingredient that exists in 90% of processed foods that should be avoided. Of course the ad wouldn't tell what it is, but right there I sort of made a mental connection to hydrogenated oils. So this last grocery shopping trip I decided to look at all the labels of stuff I buy and only purchased stuff without any hydrogenated oils (partially or otherwise). Today, just one day of not eating any foods with these oils my skin was far less greasy then normal. I just ate some club crackers that I already had which included some hydrogenated oils. That was maybe 10 minutes ago, and I can feel my face getting oily already. I'm going to make a grand effort to stay away from these especially now that I did some research and have heard nothing good about them at all. check it out, it's really interesting and I had no clue it was as bad as it is. I'd like to hear what others have to say about this.

I personally am boycotting any foods including hydrogenated oils.
