I went to the doc yesterday and she said
that now im totally 5 cm and she thinks
that all i'll have is two contractions and
i'll be fully dialated. She also thinks
that i'll have my baby sometime this
week!!!! All day after my apt yesterday
and today i've been getting cramps that
come and go, it feels like the lower part
of my stomach tightens up and feels like
really bad period cramps.

Oh my goodness sazsha, the baby is almost
going to be here. Its so exciting. What
are you going to name him again? Do you
still need that blanket? I forgot that
you only live in chicago. Hehe...I was
thinking california for some odd reason,
anyways. Lol. If you need anything else
just let me know!!

I thought you didnt start dialating until
you actually go into labor? I always
heard of women getting to the hospital
before they were even dialated then they
start dialating once they go into labor,
was I wrong?
But congrats I hope you have your little
one real soon! I didnt realize you were
so far along I remember looking at your
belly pics a couple days ago and I thought
you were like 32 weeks or so, they must
have been older pics though

Kristin- all I have are recieving
blankets, the thin ones. I guess it
doesn't really matter how big they are
just as long as they thicker then the
recieving blankets.
Babyluvwu- yeah those pics were old, I was
going to post new pics under that topic
but I guess shutterfly was down. And yeah
I always thought you dialate when you're
in labor but as far as I know im not in
labor yet and I just started getting
contractions yesterday.

Well good luck! Are you having a boy or
a girl? How bad do the contractions
hurt? That is the only thing I am
dreading, I hate pain!

Thanks, im having a boy. The contractions
really just feel like cramps when you get
your period but they're a little worse, if
I touch my stomach it feels really tight.
They aren't anything too bad but im sure
they'll get worse.

Thanks, once your at the end you'll be
wondering how it went by so fast. To me
it seems like it was just yesterday that I
found out I was pregnant.

What contractions feel like!!!!
In a first pregnancy, it is hard to
imagine not being a bit nervous about
labor--especially with all the wild and
scary tales that people like to tell. As
you read about childbirth and hear stories
from friends, keep in mind that each labor
is different, and that you can exert some
control over your experience by using
anesthesia (like epidural) and non-medical
comfort measures like relaxation breathing
and warm water therapy.
Early labor often feels like the
braxton-hicks or false labor contractions
you may already be having--a balling up or
tightening across your lower abdomen or
lower back, or a feeling like menstrual
cramps. As labor proceeds, the
contractions get longer and stronger.
They might feel like the cramps you get
with diarrhea or constipation, lasting up
to a minute, but they may be different
than anything you have experienced before.
Your whole uterus will get very hard to
the touch during a contraction, and
completely relaxed for the minutes
between. In active labor most women
without medications have to work to keep
themselves calm and focused during a
contraction, and can't hold a normal
conversation.
While preterm labor can be painless, it is
very rare to be unaware of labor
contractions in a full term pregnancy.
Some women find them mild and tolerable,
but they are usually conscious that
something is happening. More typically,
in my experience, a first time mother will
notice contractions and think "this is
it!" when actually she may be in early
labor or even having a false alarm. For
most first time mothers, active labor
contractions are surprisingly intense.
Where are our new pictures sazsha....Huh
huh? Lol
