Q: Ultrasound At 18 Weeks

I had my 18 week ultrasound yesterday. My husband and I were so excited to find out the sex. We both really believe it is a boy, but so many people have said it's a girl. Well, I guess the baby wants to keep us in suspense. It kept its legs crossed the whole time and the tech was unable to tell us what it is. I was so disappointed Sad. Has this happened to any of you? Hopefully the baby will let us see at the next visit.

Oh I am sorry!! I know how you feel though! I had this feeling that I was having a little girl but when the time came to find out she was being shy!! I went to my mom's office about a week later and they did another u/s and confirmed that I was indeed having a girl!! Cheyenne was born on october 2nd, 2003! If you have that instinct it is generally correct! Don't get discouraged! You will find out soon!!

Much love

Aw im sorry! Dont worry though some babies just never want to cooperate! Make an earlier appointment in a week or so and see if they can do another ultrasound!

Detection of Twins
Can you know that you are having twins as early as six weeks into the pregnancy? Can you hear the heartbeats? I've been told by others that you can barely hear it at 10 weeks.

Update
They detected a low lying placenta in the last ultrasound, so the dr sent me for a follow up last friday. This time the baby cooperated and kept its legs open long enough for us to clearly see that it's a she! My husband and I are very happy. I guess she was feeling a little shy last time. :d. Anyway, we have already started shopping for all of the cute things. There are so many to choose from. I can't wait to see her precious little face. March 12 can't come soon enough Exclamation
