Skin On Hands
Posted: 11-05-04 10:15am

Hi,

for about 2 weeks I have noticed a lot of my skin peeling off my hands, just at the front of my hands. I dont understand how this has happened, I am not too worried but still would like to know if its something serious, it does not itch and no spots are present. I was told to use e45 cream
can any1 tell me what is wrong with my hands and if I have anything to worry about.

Thanks

I have had spots on the palms of my hands and sides of my fingers, for the last 6 months or so. I think mine are somewhat eczema based though. They itch really bad. A pharmacist told me to use vitamin e oil (which I haven't tried) or a&d ointment (used on diaper rash) at night and cover with a bandaide. This helped a lot. Also my doc. Gave me elidel cream samples, and they help a lot too.

I have eczema too but I was given some hydrocortisone cream I dont really want to use that on my hands because it might go worse. The problem on my hand is not eczema I am quite sure of that, it might be due to the weather because it is starting to get cold, I dont know

If u think it's the weather , which it very well could be, make sure to use plently of lotion throughout the day. And at night, try wrmaing some lotion in the micro and putting it on your hands, then wearing gloves to bed. Make sure you wear gloves while using any cleaning aides also, they are hard on your hands.
