Tingles After Ultrasound Therapy Posted: 11-05-04 21:31pm
I started few weeks ago having a low back
pain, I felt pain only at the low end of
the spine (all the time, moderate pain)
plus on the left side of the butt (not
lower, only when moving the left leg,
moderate pain). Only pain, no tingles
whatsoever.
I went a week ago to see a chiropractic
doctor who said after only touching my
spine and inspecting visually the extend
of my leg movements (no x-rays) that I
have a lumbosacral dysfunction and I need
few strong pushes to move few milimeters
back the bone that 'sits' between the last
vertebra and the big bone (sacrum I think
it's called). After the first 'push' I
took an ultrasound therapy of 5 minutes on
the same low back area then left him w/o
feeling better or worse at that time.
After approx. One day the low back pain
was almost gone (i felt it only once in a
while), but I started to have permanent
tingles especially on the lower end of my
both feet, w/o any pain anywhere; the
tingles are sometimes going up to the
knees, I can feel other nerves all over my
body pinching me sometimes.
So now I got rid of the low back pain but
got into another possible problem. Are
these tingles the (side)effect of the
ultrasound therapy ? Are they normal,
since they are not even in the treated
area ? Did the doctor actually by pushing
a bone out of position touch a nerve or
smth. And now i'm in a bigger mess than
before ?
I am supposed to return to him for another
'push'+us therapy, but I would like a
second opinion.
In case it would help :
i did not sustain any accident and/or any
other event to correlate the back pain
with, I did not take any pills till now,
i'm working around 8 hours per day sitting
on a chair in front of a computer since 10
years ago, I am 26 (twenty six).
