Im on ortho tri-cyclen and I hate it! Especially since I started working, im all messed up because there is rarely a time that I am awake and un-busy enough to remember to take it at the same time. I had my period for 10 days and I have been spotting everyday since. This is my first month on this kind. I start day 22 tonight. So 21 days ive been bleeding. Ugh. I'm switching. I really don't want the shot. And I use condoms no matter what anyways, I dont care if he wants to or not, but I dont trust just condoms because they rip and thats how josh came about. I think I want the patch. Or the nuva ring, my doc told me about that, its a ring u put up there for 3 weeks, then take out for 1, but it seems like it would be a little weird or un-comfy.....I dunno. I wish I could get something a little more permanent like and iud or one of those implants in your arm, but my doc refuses to since im so young......Ugh. So im stuck with less-effective methods. Lol.

Maybe you should switch docs. To one that will let you get the implants..

When I started on ortho-tri-cylcen lo, I bled for 17 days straight. And I mean bled. Heavy like period blood, not just spoting. My doc said that happens during the first month that you're on it, but he said to stick to it, and the bleeding would stop. I stopped bleeding, and now I love being on it. My period is soo regular. I know what day and the time I will get it. Its amazing!!

I'd just give it time!!

I am on the nuva ring and I love it! I was on the shot when I was like 16 actually I have tried alot of different kinds but I always had stomack problems with the pills and plus I have high blood presure so I have been on the ring for about a year and I luv it you cant even feel it at all and it is a real low dose so the stomack problems, and head akes have vanished!! On the shot I never ever got my period....

I was on the shot when I was 15 and didn't like it..My sis is on it and it works for her so I dunno..Guess it just depends on how your body reacts to it. I use the pull out method and condoms..Can't remember to take the pills even though I have them. :p

Well, now, how many different ways have I tried....

The pill is hard to remember, and it made me terribly ill in the mornings, like I wanted to puke kinda ill, plus if you get sick and need antibiotics (or take them for something else) then the pill stops working. Unfortunately, i'm gonna have to start this again next week, which means bye-bye tetracycline and hello millions of zits Crying
or Very sad

i did the patch for a month at the beginning of this year, but it was horrible! The first two weeks, the damn thing kept falling off (i actually went through six patches in three weeks). Then, the last one I put on wouldn't come off!!! It took forever to peel it off, and it left a big, horrible rash behind, and it made me bleed!!! Also, I got very moody on it, and was health forum at everyone.

The different implants, most doctors won't even consider unless your much older (like late 20's) even if you already have a kid, cause they have been linked to all sorts of funky cancers down there, and early menopause.

I've never done the shot, but my sis did...The first three months, she bled every other week, and then hasn't had a period since. She lost the ability to tell when she's full though, so she ate and ate and ate...She's gained a ton of weight since starting it. And i've talked to a lot of ladies that say that it can take anywhere from ten months to two years after stopping the shot before you can get preggo again, and even then some had to use fertility drugs!

Yeah. I'm on ortho tricyclen and I don't very much like it. It's so much of a hassle to remember to take it every morning at the same time... And if you forget to take it or take it at the wrong time, it can mess up your period and it decreases how affective it is. Of course, i'm not very much into condoms either. I mean, you're having a little fun and then it's like, 'd*mn, now we have to stop and wait for the condom to be put on.' ug! It really does suck. And of course, we tried the pull out method too... He kept "forgetting" to pull out (aka- it felt too d*mn good and so he didn't). Unfortunately, there are some things that must be done in order to prevent pregnancy. Of course, you could just not have sex... But that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime in the near future! Wink ug... Dontcha just love birth control?!
