Hi, i'm 42, and have been diagnosed
bipolar in 1995 with a manic episode.. My
husband died in april 2004, (20 years). I
am now raising 3 teens as a single parent.
I am recieving ssi for being bipolar for
2 years now.
Was reading the forums for teen
pregnancy, 17 year old daughter is
pregnant, and looked at the other forums
and found this one..

sounds like you are a busy lady.
I am 59 and live with my 3 grown sons, two
who are autistic. I also have bi-polar
disorder and know what a bummer it can be.
So sorry to hear about your husband, I
lost mine two years ago this past oct.
You will have a difficult time for awile

Thanks for your reply.. How was your
first thanksgiving? Christmas? I am
really dreading these holidays. My
husband was always there for me, bipolar
and all.

Hi jan,
I am on my second set of holidays
and it is extremely difficult. People
think you are going to bounce back right
away and guess what it doesn't work that
way. At least not for me and my sons. A
song, a tv show,or the holidays can be
painful and probably worse if in a
depression. I suggest trying to be with
friends, relatives, or people you feel
comfortable with. It is hard I am still
basically isolating myself from different
people and found out when my husband was
still at home and then in the nursing home
who were really my friends. I have
forgiven them but have nothing more to do
