I am a male 39 years old. I am
overweight, but I am actively trying to
reach my target weight of 200. I have 45
more pounds to go, and I have already lost
20. I am on high blood pressure medicine
once a day. When I go to bed, I usually
sleep pretty good until between 3 or 4 in
the morning. I then wake up some what
suddenly and find that I am covered in
sweat. I'm somewhat concerned. This has
been going on for approximately 6 months
now, and i've only been dieting for 2
months, so the dieting isn't causing the
sweating. What should I do?

{re} Night Sweats Posted: 11-25-03 18:05pm
I've had this problem for years also and
don't know why!
But; if you own or ever read a medical
book or talked to a Dr.,
you'll see that almost every single damn
health problem from
minor to fatal has the symptom of night
sweats! I learned to just
deal with it! Im not over weight, but hey
it's the fat n salt water
coming out; unless you have a serious
disease, I would'nt stress
over it all too much!!! :d

I Sweat At Night Too Posted: 11-27-03 17:05pm
I really do get warm though. My husband
says that I give off a lot of heat. My
doctor said that perhaps my temperature
does not fall at night like most people.
I usually feel dehydrated when I awake so
I am sure to drink fairly soon after
waking. The only time this has been a
problem is for a couple medical test that
required abstaining from water for twelve
hours or so overnight. Even then, I
survived the ordeal before being
rehydrated with intravenous fluids.

Diamond is right about the disease thing.
Don't "sweat" it. O.K, that was
terrible. Anyway, as long as you feel
fine in every other aspect I wouldn't
worry about it. I sometimes have night
sweats too. However, I am usually cold
when I have them. It is very strange.
