Fluid In Pelvic Area Posted: 10-15-03 11:53am
I am a breast cancer survivor and I have
had a partial hysterectomy and now after
an ultrasound I am told I have fluid in my
pelvic area and I don't know what that
means. The doctor does not want to be
specific until I have a catscan.

Fluid In the Pelvis Posted: 10-15-03 14:59pm
Dear darcel,
i'm sorry, it must be very unsettling for
you not to know what is going on. Waiting
on a diagnosis can be quite upsetting. I
can only suggest that the reason your
doctor is so hesitant to be more specific
is because fluid in the pelvic area can be
caused by a whole range of different
things, and for him/her to guess at this
stage without doing a catscan would be
quite unprofessional of them. Try to be
patient and relax a bit, fluid in the
pelvis is not life threatning, just very
uncomfortable.
