Hello, this forum doesn't seem to active, but hopefully someone out there will read this. I was diagnosed with a hernia, I have no idea of the real name for it, in august. I went into the er room, with extreme pain when I walked or moved. That morning I had woken up at 5am with extreme pain, I did get up at 6am to vomit, and went and told my husband I was very sick, he layed down with me for awhile, because the kids were still sleeping. The pain was so excurtiating I was crying. I didnb't go in right away because I felt I was constipated, and didn't want to go and have them give an enema. So I was in pain all day at 1pm that afternoon, this was on a saturday I couldn't take it anymore, the pains were getting to be too much, and hurting even more, plus I have vomited twice. We went in, and it took 4 hours for them to diagnose me with a hernia. They did not do surgery on me because it was only a tear, there was no hole, but I was told it can and will get bigger over time. I was told not lift anything heavy, including my children, I have 3, which is very hard, I don't pick up my son anymore but my 2 year old somtimes I lift her. They said not to lift them often but if I had to then lift by bending at the knees, whixh I have been trying to do.

Anyhow, I was wondering when I will be getting surgery for this, I hate the fact that I even have one as it grosses me out, knowing I could tear and have a hole in my intestine. Can you tell if it gets bigger? I am sure it will hurt even worse if it does enlarge, I just want to know when? I get pains once a month now that range from mild to moderate, where I have to take painkillers for it to go away. I was told to go in only if I am vomiting, hav a high fever, and the pain is worse then before. Idon't want this anymore, because it limits me to activities that I used to enjoy doing! Right now it's aching a bit, when I get up to walk it's a little painful, but then again sirgery sucks, so I am trying not to do anything for now. I was also wondering if exercising is bad? My doctor never told me not to exercise, but then again I never asked. Thanks for reading this post, hopefully someone will answer soon!

Jessica
