I Feel Like a Bad Mom
Posted: 11-09-04 10:57am

I feel like I put brooklyn in her swing too much, lately ive been trying to get caught up on my homeschooling, and also trying to keep the house clean... She looks so bored out of her mind, and I feel like I dont hold her enough. Am I a bad mom cuz I rely on that swing too much? I really feel like it. Sometimes shes just way too squirmy and I cant hold onto her, so I put her in her swing. I feel like I dont spend as much time as I should be with her.

Ur not a bad mom!!!! U also need to get cealning done and what not. Right now danica's in her bouncer and shes startin to look bored, but it doesnt mean im a bad mom! Babies get bored easily, andsometimes they do want to be held but they also cant be held all the time. U have things to do and baby doesn't care if she has to sit down and play with her other things or swing. As long as u spend some timr with her playing with her, she wont care at all! Dont worry hun! Ur not bad at all! It shows ur a great mom when u ask advice and for help from people like u usually do on here! Smile

I feel bad cuz I pick her up when she wants to be held, but im always in such a hurry to get things done, I put her right back in it once she feels better... Then she looks all sad, and it makes me sad. Ive tried using one of them baby carriers but she cries when I put her in it...

Not a bad mom!!!! As long as she is not hungry or dirty, she will be fine to cry for a bit. If she is fine and happy - let her be. I know it's hard in the beginning to get used to that, but before long, you will. Smile

Yup, they tear me up too... What also tears me up (but a good way) is when she is eating, and she looks up at me and smiles... Hehe its soo cute when she smiles while im feeding her. Does danica do that? Brooklyn is constantly doing it, sometimes it interferes with her eating. Oh and thankgod, I think she is finally getting closer to sleeping through the night... I put her down around 11, and she wakes up at 4, but I dont think its to eat anymore, cuz today she didnt eat at 4, she just wanted to gum me until she fell back asleep lol. Hopefully soon I will be gettin a full nights sleep. I think that might help with my little bouts of depression too... Lol thankyou shauna, you helped me feel better. Smile

Well I plan on introducing cereal when shes about 4-5 months, depending on how well my milk keeps her filled up (in the books it says 4-6 months is best, because before or after that, there is a higher rish for alergies) and then at 6 months im gonna introduce more variety of baby foods, but im maybe gonna continue breastfeeding for awhile after that, maybe, depending on teeth, and how much of a pain in the butt it is to feed a bigger baby... Shes getting longer now, so its more complicated to feed her lol... Did you notice that? As danica got bigger, was it harder to hold her? But yea, im breastfeeding until at least 6 months... Lol hopefully teeth wont come for awhile!

There is no such thing as butting in... We have private messages, for private conversations... On the forum, just jump into any conversation you feel like... If somebody doesnt want somebody else to say something, then its their fault for not using private messages Wink Laughing
