It's normally 18 when you are forced off parent's insurance but because I am a full time student im allowed on. How could I get a job the provides health care when im still in school?

Jess is correct I work with insurance right now with the school district and most policies will let you re-main on your parents until you are 23-24 (depending on the policy) or until you are married.

I Married At 18 (long)
Let me just tell you my story, which since you are asking hopefully will really help you, because no one could tell me anything I knew it all. I got married when I was 18 in college. My husband is 7 years older so he was way ahead of me in the arena. Everything was going great until I got 'tired' of going to school.

Then, three years later I decided to go back. That's when life really kicked in. My husband was laid off in april(thankfully with an awesome severence package), we had insurance until september. In october he was bit by a dog which sent us to the er and a week after that I found out I was pregnant. He finally found a new job, but we couldn't get insurance until november. I was really panicking since it was my first pregnancy and all the other stress we were dealing with.

Anyway, everything worked out fine with job & baby, but I couldn't deal with school and working so I dropped out again. I had something called an iud inserted for birth control. It should have lasted up to ten years, but baby #2 came 20 months after the first and I am going crazy. I am 24 with two babies and I drive a minivan!!!!! Laughing I love my life and don't want to live it full of regret, but let me just tell you be careful. I have been married now for 6 years and I love it. Get married, but finish school and make sure you spend lots of time with your man before kids. Everyone is different and you might love it if you had kids now, but you don't know until it happens.

Sorry it's so long

Errrrrr
Okay, I think I get it now. I think my mom probably just tryed to scare me into thinking that if I didn't go to school I would be kicked off their insurance....Lol.....Typical of her! It's really hard wanting to start a life on my own with my boyfriend but not being able to. I really like going to school and know its the only way I could get the job I want but I just don't see how marriage could ever work with that. Four years seems so long, and my parents would never go for us living together before marriage, and I don't even think I want that. Maybe it's all just for the best though. In four years I can get a good paying job with health benifits, get a nice big house, and have a nice big wedding and then after a few have some babies!! Sounds nice, just a long way away! Errrggg! Why is it no matter how old you get, the world still looks at you like your a kid! Im not a kid!!!! Thanks for the tips guys! Keep em coming!

I Want Kids Too
I think its normal to want a family and kids I want kids to and a marriage but my b/f is the smart one and told me that we needed to wait till we were done with school and had good jobs. I have baby fever too and I work with babies everyday you would think I wouldn't want kids working at a daycare but I do I just love on those kids and I go home empty handed im not ready but everyone is diffrent. You just have to go with whats in your heart its your life. I want to live on my own too it sucks at least you wernt like me and droped out of hs im still trying to get my ged its so dam*n hard sometimes I want to give up but I can't. I should be in college or have a full time job and live on my own like everyone my age all my friends have kids and are marriend and im still stuck in a hole. But I put myself there.

I wish I could take my girls to your daycare so I know they would be cared for, there has been so much on the news about bad babysitters and daycare providers

My moms insurance kicked me off at 18 unless I was a full time student.

If u are going to school full time and are preg. U can't be denied medical coverage. The state has to pay for your ins. For u and the baby. Then for a certain amount of time after the baby is born the state still covers u. Otherwise they will cover the kid for a very small amount for a long time after the birth.

I'm not recommending u use taxes to pay for your life. U should be repsonsible to take care of yourself, however I feel that if your schooling is important to your life and career, then u should be able to do that and get other things u want. Just remember u may have to take time off from school with a preg. And a kid. It may be very hard to go back.

Okay since everyone is giving you there opinion here is mine lol.

You are still young enjoy it while you can . If you want a house and all of those things and a family (reality check). You have to have a good man with a damn good job or two incomes to make it in this world now. This is my advice to you take it for what it is worth. Look at your life closely and finish your education first you may need something to fall back on if something where to go wrong. Yes there is the state medicaid foodstamps and more and lord forbid I am very thankful for it. Everyone sooner or later will fall just make sure you are ready hun. I wish you all the luck with whatever you decide .

that was my idea for a reality tv show.. Teen preggers, please do not take offense. But I thought they should take one teen who already has young children and let a teen who wants to have a baby take their place, like you said, for however long they think they should to let them see if that is what they really want ... And maybe they could call it "teen moms...A reality check"
