You need to look at this from her point
of view instead of yours. For the last
year, it's just been her and her baby.
You say she was married to an abusive
controller...Ever think she's afraid of a
repeat performance?? She's been on her
own so long that even though she wants to
be with you, she's scared of giving up the
independence she finally has. If you
talk to her everyday and see her all the
time, she's bound to feel that you're
taking over her life, just like her ex
husband did. Give her the space that she
needs. Once she realizes that you'll be
there when she needs you without
pressuring her into anything she's not
ready for, she'll be more willing to share
her life with you.
