Continous Pain Right Side, Buttocks Area. Posted: 11-15-04 16:58pm
Hello...I am hoping for some feedback. I
have been having lots of digestive
problems since jan 04-i have great
difficulty with moving my bowels. The
only thing that moves them is a stimulant,
like a colon cleansing tea or saline
laxative. I had an upper gi that found
nothing. Ihad an ultrasound that showed a
small cyst on my left ovary. I had a
colonscopy and nothing was found. I have
been going to the dr since jan 04. I was
awakened about 2wks ago with a sharp and
intense pain in my lower abdomen, I ended
up vomiting what looked like coffee
grains, I went to dr and I was diagnosed
with acid reflux and have been taking
prilosec. Some of my other symptoms are
gas, lots of it, a full bloated feeling
all the time even when I havent eaten,
pain on my right side;constant
constipation, sometimes chest
pains, abdominal area pain, pain in my
lower buttocks and rectum. It's like
pressure on my rectum for me to move my
bowels but I cant., I have very strong
urges to go but cant, if I push I just
strain myself. Its not my appendix, they
have been out for 10 yrs. Thanks for your
feedback.

This subject is really why I joined. I
hope yours does not progress to where I am
now. I am on disability, and still no
real answers. The best guess so far is
something called vulvodinia which is an
irritation of the perinium, between the
vaginal opening and the rectum. Have you
had children and delivered vaginally? Had
an episiotomy?Sounds like I have been down
the same road as you, the small
cyst(shouldn't be a problem) terrible
abdominal pain (could be a kidney
stone-no, that's not it) change in bowel
habits? Let's get in there and see what's
going on-oh, a couple of flat polyps, but
nothing to worry about. I have not had a
bm on my own in 2 yrs, and my rectum
always feels full. There seems to be
nothing wrong that should cause so much
pain, but I cannot sit for any period of
time without much discomfort. Sex is very
unpleasant now, because everything is all
interconnected. I have seen at least 7
different specialists, and am now seeing a
neurologist who is trying to help me deal
with the pain so I can function, but I
don't think we are being very successful.
Every bm is a new experience in pain, as
though each fecal piece is made of
concrete and covered in sandpaper. Thats
how sensitive the nerves have become, and
I have become my pain. I have distanced
myself from those who care about me
because I am so unhappy and I do not want
to share my unhappiness with them.
Something must change soon. We are trying
a new med, and I am just starting to build
up on it now. It will be another month or
so before I fell the effects if any. Wish
me luck......Caron
