Yeah... It is gross. We keep our little
box in a part of the house that nobody
goes in so it won't make the entire thing
stink!

Yeah cuz of toxoplasmosis but having spent
my life around dogs, cats and horses and
my child hood making mud pies I can
probably guarantee I already had it, like
I didn't have to have my tetanus booster
cuz I already had immunity (horses carry
that in their bowels) but thanks.
I was pregnant up til 28th october when I
had to have an emergency hysterectomy
because my uterus had ruptured into my
abdominal cavity.

Lol we all know that we "should" wash our
hands after we stroke the
dog/cat/horse/animal and we all know that
we should never try to eat the mud pies
once the sun has baked them.... But....
Ahhh well never mind as the old saying
goes "you have to eat a peck of dirt
before you die" a peck is an old old
measurement that is equvalent to 20 pounds
I do believe!!!

18 and a half weeks. I'm not surprised
you haven't heard of it. The bereavement
midwife had only ever heard of one other
case in 35 years of doing her job and none
of the gynae docs had seen a case before.
I was told it is probably appraoching the
one in a million status.
You see I was born with only 1/2 my
reproductive organs, only one tube and
ovary (left side) and only half a uterus
which instead of the 2 halves joining my
one half closed round onitself so one side
was more like a thick membrane instead of
muscle wall.
However I still have my only ovary (no hrt
and if one we want I could have my eggs
harvested, mixed with steve's sperm and
incubated by a surrogate) and I have my
cervix.
Woohoo no periods
i'll bump a post for you called "life and
death surgury"

Yup they have 2 tins of kit'e'kat and a
dish of dry biccies.
I can't put them on completely dry food
because it is soo bad for thier health.
Cats only take in a small amount of water
each day and by only giving dry food they
are forced to drink larger quantities
which their bodies don't cope well with,
then that can lead to all sorts of urinary
problems.
Guess I just have to cope with smelly
cats.

Hey kia, why do they say pregnant women
cant change litter boxes? Cause I want a
kitty cat but my doc says no I cant have
one something about the feces or urine in
there its like dangerous for the unborn
fetus, but they havent exactly explained
why it was bad or dangerous, have you
heard of this?

Yes, cats carry the toxoplasmosis bacteria
in their faeces.
If you have had the disease (a bllod test
can tell) then you are immune but if your
first blood test is after getting pregnant
they can't tell if you had it before you
got preg.
If you get toxoplasmosis when preg it can
lead to blindness of the child, and other
birth defects.
However many wome continue to look after
their cats, just remember to always wear
thick rubber gloves when doing the cat
potty, wash your hands well with
anti-bacterial soap afterwards and always
wash your hands after touching the cat(s)
before preparing food or eating or putting
your hands to your face.
See cats (horrible critters lol) lick
themselves and spread the bacteria over
themselves (some cats are also immune and
don't have it anyway) but after they have
been in their litter box they also walk
all over everything including kitchen
surfaces.
So if docs had their way we would all be
preceeded by and anti-bacterial mist lol
