Contaminated Urine?
Posted: 11-16-04 12:13pm

A friend of mine is pregnant (12 weeks). The last two times she went to the Dr. To do her urine samples they came back contaminated. The nurse called her with the news but wasn't able to tell her over the phone what it could be. She just told her to take another sample. Both these samples have been taken at a medical center. Once at at the dr office and once at the lab. She isnt sure what it could be. And i've never heard of this happening before. Does anybody have any clues on what could be up?

My guess is that she's not clean (no offense meant). But usually when the doc has u do a urine sample they give u an alcohol cloth to wipe off with before u pee.... Maybe she is wiping from the back forward first..... (sorry to be graphic) that is all I know....

Hey

thanks for the quick response. She does use the wipes and she doesnt wipe back to front so that couldn't be it. Thanks again.
Does anybody else have any ideas?

The only other things I can think of is the cup is dirty inside (u wouldn't think that would happen twice though)... Or she is taking some kind of drugs, herbal drugs, or meds that r potent enuf to effect it...... Good luck

Thanks again,

she said the only tea she drinks is earl grey tea. She's going to call her Dr. Office. Hopfully they can set up an appointment or she can talk straight to the Dr.
