I
have had this test done to see if my tubes
were open one is completely blocked and
the other let the dye in but it did not
come out into my uterus , they say I have
scar tissue from a past infection is there

I'm so sorry to hear about the results of
your test.
It's possible to correct scarring in the
tubes, but there would still be a risk (a
very high one) that a sperm would go up
the tube and fertilize the egg and then it
would implant in the tube (causing an
ectopic pregnancy). I imagine your doctor
will advise you to avoid getting pregnant
because of this risk.
What you might want to consider if you
wish to carry a child is in vitro - where
they give you some fertility drugs for a
while and then harvest a bunch of eggs
from your ovaries via a laproscopic
procedure and then fertilize them in a
petri dish and implant them in your
uterus. The success rate is quite good
for this, but it is expensive and is not
often covered by insurance.
I hope you'll talk to your doctor about
all the options open to you.
Take care.

Blocked Tubes Posted: 11-22-04 12:25pm
Hello I had trouble getting pregnant and
had the same thing done to have a look at
my tubes they wernt blocked but had scar
tissue ,i managed to fall pregnant but it
was an ectopic (where the baby grows in
your tube)i had to have my right tube
removed I decided after that to get
sterilised as I couldnt go through that
again as you have a higher chance it
happening again in your remaining tube,
luckily I already have 4 kids .Hope this
helps you :
