Can't Maintain Erection
Posted: 11-17-04 14:22pm

Hi. Im 21 years old this year and im having problems trying to stay hard everytime I have sex. This is getting really frustrating and worrying
for me. I have a girlfriend and I know she is frustrated too eventhough she doesnt admit it. I have no problems getting hardons...Its just that I can't maintain it everytime im in her. What is the problem? I used to masturbate regularly to porn and I have no troubles maintaining a hard on while at it. Issit because I masturbate too much? Or izzit im suffering from erectile dysfunction? Please help.......

Maybe you're too nervous about being with her. You don't have to impress the magazines ya know? Just try to relax. Stress does a number on your performance.

My boyfriend is 24 and had the same issue. We bought a penis ring, worked like a charm. Havent had a problem since. They're cheap and easy. Give 'em a try.

I have been dating this wonderful woman for a while now and we waited to be together. Finally when we did, I had already had about three glasses of wine and I was really hard for about 5 minutes, then I just could not keep it up. So I firmly, (no pun intended) believe that wine or just alcohol plays a big part.

Try really teasing the hell out of each other for a while before you have sex.

I also have this problem, and am 23 years old. I don't think that in my case it can be attributed to any vices (don't smoke, nor drink) or nervousness, I feel comfertable around her.
I am also quite fit, but can never maintain the erection for a long enough period. Is there anyway this can be solved other than visiting a doctor?

Nervousness and performance anxiety is a big factor in both getting and keeping an erection for young guys. The brain-penis connection is very sensitive to any kind of stress. You get a negative feedback loop where the worrying causes the erectile problem and the erectile problem causes the worry.

One good way to nip this in the bud, in other words, break this negative feedback between your brain and your penis is to take viagra. What this does is it will break the connection by giving you an extra burst of confidence. As long as you are horny the viagra will keep you hard despite any other worries you may have. You only need to take the viagra a few times. After realizing you can get hard and stay hard then you no longer need the drug. Once you know you can do it, then you will no longer be so worried. You will get renewed confidence. As a matter of fact a doctor's free sample pack will probably be all you need. Viagra tends to be pricy so try and get the free sample pack...Most docs give them away to guys who have hard-on problems no matter what the age or cause.

For me, xanax or beer makes me limp. Could it be a side affect from a drug?
