I have been on zoloft for about 5 years
now, working very well. Before that I
had had two prior depressive episodes (was
put on prozac for that). The third time
I was put on prozac it did not work well
at all, I think it made me worse to be
honest. Anyway, I had a baby about 6
mos. Ago, he is doing well. He doesn't
sleep thru the night, so probably some
sleep deprivation not helping things.
But I have recently started to feel kinda
depressed again. My ob/gyn upped the
dose of the zoloft for me. I will see
if that helps, but I have a feeling I
probably need to change to a new
medication.
I am really exhausted all the time, but
don't sleep as well as I should
considering I am so exhausted all the
time. Sometimes I am so tired I wonder if
I will make it thru the day. I have
opportunities to nap, but I have trouble
with it. Thoughts start to race through
my mind, etc. I feel a low level of
sadness (a heaviness on my chest),
sometimes I feel really lonely. These
are all new to me. I think the
depression is coming back and the zoloft
is not working effectively. I have an
appt in about 2 weeks to see someone about
this.
Has anyone else had an episode like this
where the medicine was working and then
stopped working or the effectiveness
decreased?

Hi there...
As you know, hormones are all over the
place after you have a baby, and this may
be why your meds are not working.
I would like to suggest that you look into
seeing a natropath or homeopathic doctor
to see if there is anything that you can
take to balance you out "naturally"
my only caution with the drug route is
that you may experience side effects from
something and then be perscribed something
else to counter act the side effect...With
know know reactions to the combination of
the 2 drugs.
I strongly urge you to look into
alternatives so that you can enjoy your
precious litte boy, and he can have 100%
of his happy mommy.
