800 mg's is way too much folic acid. I went to a website for ya, and found out that you should be taking about .4 mgs. There are pre-natal vitamins u can take, that include folic acid. If you think you arent getting enough, drin a few glasses of orange juic, or leafy grean veggies.
Good luck and congrats!! :d

those are the ones I had to use because the other ones from the doc triggered my migraines and I would just throw them up, the doc told me not to take them for a while, gave me something to help my nausea and had me take vit b-6

ive got those ones too. I got them cause when I ran out of the ones from the doctor subscribed my insurance was not payin for them since I was undergoing qualifluying (how ever u spell) for it so the nurse said to go and get them at wal-mart and I did.
If u get the big bottle they last for a whiles

Nutrition, vitamins and pregnancy
by peter weiss, m.D.

------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------

most women when they are pregnant will be given a prenatal multi-vitamin, which includes all the daily vitamins that they will need, plus folic acid.

Folic acid is very important in pregnancy. Folic acid is required in your increased maternal metabolism, and red blood cell formation. All the folic acid that is needed should be found in your prenatal multi-vitamin.

Vitamins are very important to the developing fetus. However, you should be aware that too much can cause grave problems in the baby, so consult your physician before taking any vitamins or supplements.

Let's run through the basic vitamins and their importance:

vitamin a - important in the fetus in bone growth and for tooth structure.

Vitamin d - helps normal bone and tooth development by helping absorption of calcium.
Vitamin e - helps with the maintenance of your blood.
Vitamin c - needed for maintaining healthy tissue and blood vessels.
Vitamin b complex - varies, but helps in forming red blood cells, also the nervous system.
A well balanced diet, good eating habits, and common sense will give you a good foundation for the start of a healthy, happy pregnancy.

The rec. Dose for a preg. Woman is 1mcg

You should be taking folic acid before you get pregnant if you are trying to or want to in the future.
