Pregnancy.. Not All It's Cracked Up to Be.

Just one of the reasons why people should not be forced to gestate

what is preeclampsia?

preeclampsia is a disorder that occurs only during pregnancy and the postpartum period and affects both the mother and the unborn baby. affecting at least 5-8% of all pregnancies, it is a rapidly progressive condition characterized by high blood pressure and the presence of protein in the urine. Swelling, sudden weight gain, headaches and changes in vision are important symptoms; however, some women with rapidly advancing disease report few symptoms.

Typically, preeclampsia occurs after 20 weeks gestation (in the late 2nd or 3rd trimesters or middle to late pregnancy), though it can occur earlier. Proper prenatal care is essential to diagnose and manage preeclampsia. Preeclampsia, pregnancy induced hypertension (pih) and toxemia are closely related conditions. Hellp syndrome and eclampsia are other manifestations of the same syndrome. It is important to note that research shows that more women die from preeclampsia than eclampsia and one is not necessarily more serious than the other.

preeclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are a leading global cause of maternal and infant illness and death. By conservative estimates, these disorders are responsible for 76,000 deaths each year.

Because now they know they have a choice! They also know that women have other functions to perform on this earth beside being a broodmare. If a woman cooses to have children, that's fine.If she chooses not to,that is her right!Patty

we're in the 21'st century.. That's why.. We're not in the dark ages anymore. The only people who would feel enslaved are those who are.

We're in the 21'st century.. That's why

what makes this centuary so special?

"the only people who would feel enslaved are those who are."

then I feel enslaved and so should you and every damn one of us!

"because we have a choice"

if I was suddenly allowed to kill.... Well anyone I wanted - if the law then took away that choice would it be enslaving?

for centuries, childbirth was the main cause of women's death. Rest assured that they often felt enslaved.

Believe me for centuries child birth has been the main cause of death for men too! Laughing

more women died from child birth than old age? Seems unlikely

"assured that they often felt enslaved."

who by?

The government and the law at the time?

I do not recall the majority of women who are pro-choice saying that they hate pregnancy or babies. There may be a few who have said that the idea of having children is not appealling to them.Would it be better if these women had children they did not want??You need to understand that these situations are not always black or white.Izzy, what would you do if you got your girlfriend pregnant and you both really did not want to continue with the pregnancy???Can you honestly say that you would both agree to have the baby? What if she did not want to carry to term? It's her body-you cannot make a woman stay pregnant if she does not feel that is what is right for her at the time. With some experience, you may come to see that.Patty

Well if that happened I would do all I could to try and prevent her making the abortion choice that includes any help or maybe in absolut desperation maybe even threats but I couldnt make her carry to term as the law says she can abort

if she had an abortion I would just leave her never talk to her again - perhaps I may even go so far kicking seven colors of....... I wouldnt know until put in that possition!

A friend of mine was done for attempted manslaughter after he nearly killed his wife when he found out she had aborted their child without even consulting him.... He found out via one of her friends!

He didnt get charged instead he had to visit a psychiatrist for so many sessions - he still goes now and again even though he dosnt have to..... He was absolutly devistated - he would have loved to have had a child - he has none and he is in his late fortys now.... Obviously divorced, single and distrusts women - she wrecked his life... Poor guy!

It would seem to me that there were more problems than her simply being pregnant.I cannot see a loving couple doing that.It would also seem that he had some anger issues, too.Patty

go check your stats. 40% of women died from pregnancy until about 200 years ago.

no, by the inability to prevent their pregnancy and thus staying alive.

threats, eh? You are such a nice guy. :p

"seven colors.."? Guess you just showed your true misogynistic "colors." Sad

hmm, so your friends are as violently misogynistic as you are. How despicable and pathetic.

given his behavior, it is a good thing that he didn't breed. His kids could easily have been the next hitler when his father was such a violent and misogynistic creep. His wife did the world a favor, and I am sorry that she had to endure his psychotic and hatemongering violence in the process. Any way I can give her a helping hand? She has earned it.

we have duly noted that you see a wife beater as a "nice guy." that says volumes about what a misogynistic creature you truly are.

obviously an outright lie as he did hurt somebody. Only his wife, which is a woman and therefore not as important as a fly in your world, but to the rest of us, your claim is an outright lie.
Quote:
but he must of just snapped
ah, yes. The old "she made him do it" excuse for men who are of such piss-poor quality that they can't control themselves. Creeps like that gives other men a bad name.

oh yes he sounds like an absolute saint! How tragic that he was turned by an evil woman who should have bred for his benefit! The poor lamb was helpless, she made him do it!

Get back to the dark ages izzy.

gosh -- a guy is charged with attempted manslaughter for beating up his wife so bad he nearly killed her...And saying he's less than a saint is being judgemental? Am I missing something here?

I never said he was a saint but you lot have done nothing but gang up and kick into him, you have offered no understanding - no compasion - nothing. You have been like a bunch of wild dogs riving at a injured animal. I know why to take the spotlight off the real issue his rights or lack of them as a father and a husband!

He has no criminal record - he has never been in a fight in his life the only dodgy thing I have ever known him do was to record music onto tape from radio stations.

How about the woman hmmmm - why no finger pointing at her eh? How come he is the bad guy in all this?

He was her husband for crying out loud.... He was the father of their child

dont you think he deserved to be consulted.....

Do you think even in marriage the husband should have no rights?

Dont you think he deserved to hold his own child?

Dont you think he deserved to pitch a pass to his own child?

Dont you think that her career is not a good enough reason to kill his child?

Dont you think that if someone came into your house and killed your son or daughter you would say well ok thats no problem or do you think you would be so devistated that you would attack and damn well try and kill that motherf***er

dont you think it is undestandable that he did what he did?

No obviously not - I tell you now

this is the last time I let you in to my life and discuss openly and honestly things that have effected my friends or myself.....

You are nothing but manipulitve hard hearted sons of biches!

My compassion for wife beaters is limited, yes.

he has rights as a father yes, but only to a born child, not rights to control his girlfriend. And he proved that he should not have any rights as a father and husband - no domestic abuser should raise kids.

and? This doesn't make attempted homicide ok izzy, you are aware of that?

izzy wrote:

and what has she done wrong? Nothing. She prevented a child being raised by a wife beater, a very sensible and dare I say noble act.

izzy wrote:

and it was her body, and he has no right to control it and he certainly has no right to beat her, however you twist it to fit your warped reality.

izzy wrote:

nope. Not when he's a violent thug.

izzy wrote:

to beat his wife? To control her body? Hell no.

izzy wrote:

1) there was no child 2) domestic abusers should have no rights to ruin children.

izzy wrote:

1) there was no child 2) she can abort for whatever reason she likes, it's her body and yes, I personally think a career is a good enough reason but it doesn't matter what I think - i'm not the one that's pregnant.

izzy wrote:

it was a fetus. And you should never take the law in your own hands, and you should never resort to violence.

izzy wrote:

not at all. Why do you think it's ok to beat women half to death? You are bordering on psychotic izzy, and you'll end up rotting in jail if you carry on dosn this road.

those are your friends? Nice. Look forward to seeing you on some cheap cop show...

i'm sorry:

" beat women! Women should be beaten when they piss you off if they do anything you don't like then kick their skinny asses filthy sluts you are their master you own them!!!"

does that make you feel better?
