Small Soft Growths In My Crotch Posted: 10-17-03 23:20pm
Over the last few months I have seen the
development of small (2-5mm high) thin
(2-3mm thick) 3mm tall soft growths
between my testicals and my thigh. They
do not hurt in any way.
They look like the things you see on some
peoples faces or necks sometimes, you know
what I mean.
What are they and should I be concerned?

Have they ever ruptured? If so - what
has come out? Sometimes small cysts can
form in places that are kept really warm,
for example many women get them in the
summer under their breasts. They are
also common under the armpit or near the
legs, on the genitalia. When they
rupture there might be some bleeding
and/or genital think that you should have
them looked at by a doctor, just in case.
Better safe than sorry! Good luck!
Hope this helps...

No they have not ruptured and do not look
like something that ever will, just soft,
normal colored skin/flesh that has grown
in an outward way.

I think maybe you are talking about a
"skin tag" - that is what I have heard
them referred to as. Just a small little
piece of skin that maybe a little darker
in coloration than your normal skin tone.
I know that people who are self conscious
about the ones on their necks and faces
can have them removed in a simple
procedure after asking their doctor about
it. They can come up anywhere on the
body (chests, armpits, necks, and faces
are very common). I think that no matter
what you should have your doctor check it
out. It is possible that it could be
something very simple! Hope all goes
well!

Skin tag (acrochordon)
a skin tag is a small soft skin growth
commonly occurring on the neck, upper
chest, eyelids, or near the underarm.
Symptoms - skin tags are usually skin
colored or may take on a reddish or
pinkish tint. They grow on a stalk and
are painless.
Cause - the cause of skin tags is not
known. They tend to occur more
frequently as we age.
Diagnosis - the diagnosis is based on the
appearance of the growth.
Treatment - skin tags are harmless and
require no treatment. They can be
removed if they are unsightly or cause an
irritation due to tight clothing (such as
a bra) rubbing against them. Removal may
involve cryotherapy (freezing),
cauterization (electrically burning), or
other surgical procedures.
