Hi, my name is sky this is my first time
on here i'm looking for some help
and cant find any answers, hoping someone
can help me. I'm 23 and have 2 gorgeous
healthy little boys, and i'm 20 weeks
pregnant with another boy, problem is I
had my ultrasound on the 17th got a call
this morning saying I absolutley needed to
be at my doctor before noon so I go in and
they showed me a picture of the ultrasound
of the babys head and it shows a white
spot in the head or on the brain. I read
the letter from the radiologist it said
something about a possible left latteral
hemorrhage, my doctor was not very
reasuring I am scared to death ive been
crying all day. He set me an appt with a
specialist for a 4d ultrasound, and maybe
amnio but its not till next thursday and
im stressin bad I cant wait does anybody
know about this, I would appreciate any
feedback. Thanks

I'm so sorry honey. I don't have an
experience like that, but both my babies
were in the .N.I.C.U. For a week.
Neonatal intensive care unit. I was so
scared. My last baby almost didn't make
it. All I can say is I know how you feel
and you can talk to me if you want. Just
be strong for the baby growing in you and
your other boys. It's the hardest part,
but try to keep it together for them.

Aww honey that is a rough place to be. My
step son who is 2 and a half months was
not expected to live more than a few hours
because during an ultra sound they saw an
abnormality in his heart well as it turns
out when he was born he did better than
expected and yes he had a rough start
(open heart surgery) but they say he will
go on to lead a completely normal life.
So you never know. Just keep your head up
and educate your self on all the
possibilities so you can at least feel a
little better. Doctors are not gods and
you just never know. Good luck!

I will be praying for you and your baby
too. You can activate a prayer chain at
your church or any local church. Just a
thought.

A spot can be anything. If they talk
about hemorrhage, they are talking about a
bit of bleeding inside the fetus' skull.
U.S. Is not a good screen for that,
though, as anything can show up like that.
It could be a bit of heavy calcium
deposit of the skull (insert obligatory
joke about "thick-headed) or a temporary
change in the brain itself. Remember
that the fetal brain is doing a lot of
growing around this time and is undergoing
a lot of changes.
It could be serious, certainly, but it
also could be what we call an "artifact,"
a insignificant thing affecting the
quality of the u.S.
The main reason for such a bleed, if that
indeed is what it is, would be what is
called an aneurysm, a swelling of the
blood vessels in the brain. That is
genetical in nature, meaning that it runs
in families. If you don't know anybody
in your near family who have aneurisms, or
who have had strokes from an actual bleed,
it is much less likely that the us showed
anything significant.
Now, that is about the limit of what I
know about this and it is a long time
since I have looked at us, so anybody
else, feel free to jump in.

Well if it was choroid medline says this:
"the choroid is the layer of blood vessels
and connective tissue between the sclera
(white of the eye) and retina. It is part
of the uvea and supplies nutrients to the
inner parts of the eye. Inflammation of
the choroid is called choroiditis. "
check the spelling and go to http://medlineplus.Gov/ to look at
what the words mean. You need to talk to
your doctor about this though, they'll
give you a far better idea than we can.
I'll be thinking of you.
