Complicated Situation But Just Had to Ask ^_^"
Posted: 11-28-04 05:19am

Hey all! I have a question which is gonna be somewhat agitating to answer bcuz I don't have all my dates figured out "exactly"-- but here goes! I started taking the pill (alesse) on october 17th, the sunday following the week I started my period. I took the pill up until the following friday or saturday (oct. 22/23), but wound up having to stop bcuz stupid me misplaced my pills. Now here's the tricky part. As oftentime happens, I began to have "break-through" bleeding (or so I think it was) a few days after stopping the pill. Problem is, I can't remember "exactly" when nor how long it lasted, tho i'm almost certain it didn't go into this month (november). On top of all this, my husband decided not to pull out on nov. 21st w/o my knowledge of his intention. So now it's november 28th, and still no sign of my period. Normally my breasts will get tender or i'll start breaking out a week bfore my period is due, but so far no such thing. I haven't noticed any real tell-tale signs of pregnancy although I feel kinda bloated at times, and have been using the bathroom quite a bit along with feeling tired a lot (then again maybe that's just me ^_^"). So I guess i'm just wondering if this is "normal" after getting off the pill or is there a possibility I could be pregnant? Any input would be greatly appreciated =)... Thanx!

Well hun my advice would be go ahead and take a test. You could be pregnant but it could also be getting off the pill. Let us know what u find out! G/l

Thanx newmommy... I've been thinking of taking one, but having gone through a similar situation a couple months back w/ bfn after bfn, i'm somewhat hesitant =\. Maybe i'll take at least one some time this week. I'm not sure what to hope for since me and mah hubby are currently separated and i'm trying to go back to school in the spring Confused . I mean, i've always wanted to be a mother (and a great one at that Wink), but i'm just kinda nervous about the whole idea right now =\...

The sooner you find out the better it is for you and the baby if there is one. I know how you feel. I found out I was pregnant after my boyfriend and I broke up.

Sometimes birth control can stop your period. Mine did. It was weird, too. I was fine without them and then when I had my first son, I took them and stopped and my period stopped. It took almost 2 years to make them somewhat regular..Still never were, but son #2 is on his way. I would take a test and if its not pos, then go to your ob/gyn and ask him to exam for enlargement of the uterus and take a blood test. Even though a urine test .I.S. Accurate, sometimes the blood test is .M.O.R.E. Accurate.

Last year I started the pill after going of the shot..I also missed pills....I thought that maybe my period wasn't coming because of the pill...But after going to the doctor I found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant(miscarraige).. It can be possible so just take a test to be sure..

Thanx for all the responses, ladies =)... I think i'm definitely gonna take a hpt this week to at least get an "idea" of what's going on. Another question, tho (sorry if tmi). If u're pregnant, what kind of texture is ur cm? 'cuz around nov. 21st (give or take a couple days) my cm was ew and stretchy, but now it's kinda "lotiony" (if that's a word ^_^"). Does this mean anything?

Well, cervical mucus is clear and stretchy during ovulation.

Well, it's only clear and stretchy when you're ovulating, so I guess it does change. But there is no specific pregnancy cm. You typically have a lot of discharge during pregnancy.

it is different for everyone. I would think that whatever your 'regular' discharge is like, it would be similar. My husband noticed a slight difference, but I don't think I ever did. In case anyone doesn't understand, what I mean by clear and stretchy is it's completely transparent and if you put some between two of your fingers you can make like strings. It will stretch. The more it stretchs (meaning you can make a few strings and they don't break) the closer you are to ovulation. It is very sperm friendly. It is thicker than when you're just 'wet'. You may have to study your discharge for awhile to tell the difference.
