I was diagnosed with genital herpies about
a year before I got pregnant due to a jerk
who had them and never told me til about a
month after we had sex so we broke up
after that. But I was just wondering if
anyone ever had this and had a break out
during their pregnancy at any time?Cuz I
am stressed due to other life issues and I
think i'm having a breakout and my doctor
now put me on a med called acyclovir 4oomg
2xs a day for the rest of my pregnancy,
this type of medication will not harm my
baby will it? I know if the doctor
prescribed it she knows best i'm just
worring about it cuz this is my 1st
pregnancy and I want to do things right!

If your doctor knew you were preggo when
he gave you the pills they shouldn't harm
you. Read the pamphlet and see what it
says. Herpes treatments tend to treat the
breakout (cos they can't cure the disease)
so I wouldn't think it's that strong. If
you're worried, go back and see the
doctor.
Bad luck getting herpes off that jerk
-but congratulations about the pregnancy!
