I recently had an experience that I was
told was very low risk and I shouldn't
worry about it, but I still worried. So
here is my question. The possible
exposure took place on a thursday
afternoon, that saturday night which was
less than three days later, I woke up in
the middle of the night feeling burning
hot expecially on my back and the back of
my neck and top of head. I check my
temperature and it was normal. I have had
this for over 1 week, I still feel hot but
my temperature is still normal, one week
later i'm now getting muscle aches in my
legs and arms and my glands feel alittle
swollen, plus i'm feeling very crappy.
Does this sound like ars? From everything
i've read this is too soon, and I can't
find any place that has the burning
symptoms that I have. Plus my temperature
has never risen above normal.

I would maybe talk to your doctor about
it. He/she might know what's going on.

Um, Im Not Doc But Doesnt Sound Like Ars. Posted: 12-30-04 02:54am
I myself am in a situation where I am
worrying about having ars. I got
nightsweats/chills for 2 nights
immediately upon finding out the
possiblity of having hiv. This was most
likely due to anxiety or at least this is
how I think when im thinking postiively!
This burning sensation is not a symptom of
ars. Burning or numbness in the hands, is
though.
From what ive read, and ive read a lot,
seroconversion can take place within a
week or so after exposure (wether it was
sexual or drug use also has an effect).
It sounds like this "low risk encounter"
is causing you a lot of worry. These
symptoms very well could be due to
anxiety. I got a question for you... How
often do you check your temp??
