Bleeding 5 Months Post Hysterectomy Posted: 12-04-04 17:13pm
I'm 35 and had my uterus and one ovary
removed in july. I have had a regular
monthly cycle ever since. It's not heavy
and I have to keep a log until the middle
of december before my dr will decide what
to do. Does anyone have any idea what
happens next ?

Are you on birth control pills, have you
thought about having a complete
hysterectomy. I had a complete
hysterectomy due to cancer, I could have
had a partial hyst., but I didn't want to
end up having them to find another cancer
cell later and end up going back into
surgery, I have had no regrets since
that.
The very best to you!
Sincerely.

I am 38 and had a subtotal hysterectomy
earlier this summer. I also have cyclical
bleeding, though it's very light.
I saw my doctor about it and she said that
catuerization is an option. It's a
procedure that they do right in the
office. For some women it can be rather
uncomfortable, part of my hesitation is
that i've always had a very sensitive
cervix and can't bear the thought of going
through that to get rid of a little blood.
My bleeding is very light (just a little
pink when I wipe and a single panty liner
a day) and I don't think i'm going to opt
for the treatment, but I thought you
should know it's likely an option.
It's possible that you may need to heal a
bit longer before the procedure could be
done (my doctor said that she wouldn't
want to tackle it until nine months or so
when I come in for my next pap if I was
interested).
