For Those Wanting to Have a Child

Baby, you're priceless

nancy & betsy

so how much does really it cost to raise a baby nowadays, anyway?

While you can't put a price tag on your little angel, there's no question that such lovely little creatures aren't cheap to raise.

But just how much does it really cost to raise a child from birth to age 17 -- excluding college tuition? According to a report issued in may 2002 by the u.S. Department of agriculture, estimated yearly expenses vary considerably by household income level and child’s age.

For the lowest-income group in the study, annual costs ranged from $6,490 to $7,560; in the middle-income group, from $9,030 to $10,140; and families earning the most paid from $13,410 to $14,670.

These expenditures were tallied for two-child households with married parents; however, the expenses in single-parent families were very similar, with the notable difference that the majority of single moms and dads were in the lower income group

I get broody from time to time but that is all but I won't act on it.. I don't really know if I want kids.. It's too early to tell. I personally don't think it's right to have kids unless you are perfectly fit and you are stable and the child will have both parents. Life is hard as it is and it's only getting harder and I don't want to bring any kids into this world with it being the way it is now and it'll be twice as bad if that kid isn't 100% provided for and well taken care of when they are young.

You are right. It is one thing to bring a child into a good enviornment, but to purposly bring one into an enviornment that would not be healthy for the little one is completely selfish

The only thing that really get's to me is that people can have babies and don't really realise what they are letting themselves in for.
I'm now so much older than the first time I got pregnant, i'm in a stable realtionship and want to be a parent - I don't just want a baby I want to be a parent.... And I can't.

Nah, I deal with it.
It just is one of those things I find very unfair. I have a support structure, home, job, income, finished school, partner, etc and well...........

No, we are non-religious and as marriage is joining in holy matrimony we will not make a farce of it by getting "married" not even in a register office.
I think it is wrong to basically make fun of someone's religion - it is precious to them.
However we are in a long term live together relationship and this coming year we are exchanging "forever rings" - a promise to love and respect forever..........
