This Is Soo Weird (update From Doc's Appt)
Posted: 12-07-04 11:16am

Well for those who did not read my earlier post or do not remember what happened to me... I was 9 weeks pregnant and miscarried my baby last monday. Since the miscarriage was happening slowly with complications the er doc wanted me to see my suppose to do ob doctor yesterday. Well she was a very nice lady and I felt pretty comfortable talking with her. She did a pelvic exam and an ultrasound, the kind where they stick this thing inside of you and look at the screen like that. It was very uncomfortable and hard to stay still lol. She said that I was healing pretty good but she saw some little things in my uterus that did not look familiar.. Bascially she could not recongize what it was Confused So she printed out the pics for a specialist to look at. But I was sooo mad cuz she asked me if I had a prior ultrasound and when I said no, she was also furious at my doc that did not want to give me one. I told her that both days I was in the er I asked for one and they didn't bother. She was gonna call and talk to the doc because the first day I came in my cervix was still closed and thats when he should have done an ultrasound. So I was pretty mad too. And..... Also this is sooo weird but they did a pregnancy test on me and its still coming back positive. She says its like a 1% chance that the baby is still in there, but its probably not alive anymore anyways. But she thought it was really weird that the pregnancy test is still positive a week later. She they drew my blood again (thats the 4th time in the last week) to check the hcg levels again. She said in order for me to become pregnant again those levels are suppose to go to "0".. So shes gonna call me with the results today and then we're gonna see what was still in my uterus. So im waiting for the results.. Its about 8:15 am pacific time so its probably too early for her to call. But the wait it killing me.. Ill update more when I get the call. I really hope everything will be ok.. I wanna put all this behind me and start over.

When I had my termination, my pregnancy tests were still coming back positive until about 3 weeks after.
Because I had my termination so early they get you to do a pregnancy test like a week or so later just incase they missed the foetus.

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks nad a week later I still have hcg levels in me. They may have to go in and do a d & c...It's where they scrape everything else that's left in you out. So that you don't get an infection. Good luck girl!!

I had a miscarriage at 12 1/2 weeks and I took a pregnancy test two weeks after and it was still positive. The doc told me in some cases that you can get a positive up until you get your first regular period. It all depends on how much hcg was in the blood and it could take a while for it to go back to 0. I hope everythings good! Did u get a d&c?

Well my doctor called my with the lab results.... It looks like im down to 300 hcgs now (8 days after my miscarriage)..
Last week it was 20,00 when I was in the er.. Then the next day it was 8,000 and now a week later its 300. The doc was in a hurry and could not answer my questions throughly.. When I asked her if this was ok.. She said its good and bad.. But did not explain what the bad part was.. So I have another appt next thursday and shes hoping by then they go down to "0".. My husband and I want to ttc and I cannot get pregnant until its "0".. Also I sooo do not want a d & c.. So hopefully everything will go down to normal!!!!!! Wink

Oh hun, I am sorry you have to deal with this. You are handling it very well though and seem to have a positive attitude, i'm proud of that! Lets hope it goes down to 0 real quick here so you can start all over again! I'll be thinking about you and hoping that you are pregnant again real soon and have a happy 9 months to come! Keep us updated!

Aww hun thanks soo much!!!
Lol.. Im glad you think im taking this pretty good. I thought im probably boring everyone by one Embarassed .. Its just my husband is kinda sick of hearing about it. I know hes not gonna read this but I think hes kinda acting like a jerk about it. Just saying "just get over it, it happened and now theres nothing we can do. Stop obsessing over everything." we almost got in a fight after the doc called cuz I wanted to tell him the details and he didnt really care much for them. And its werid but im still kinda bleeding and he wants to have sex already. Im kinda scared because I can get an infection and also im still have some contractions.. Therefore sex is not on the top of my prioirty list right now. So hes walking around all grumpy and stuff. Its hard for men to understand whats going on because they do not yet have a connection to the baby or feel any of the pain. So im relly hoping to put all this behind me.
But im soo glad so many of you responded and supported me..
Thanks a lot girls.. Ur all the best!!! Wink

You're not boring us at all, it helps to talk about things that hurt so bad. Your boyfriend probably just wants to forget, men don't like admitting when things hurt, my guess is that he is also hurting. About the sex thing, just let himknow how you feel, and so he's not so grumpy give him oral instead, that's what I do while i'm on my period. I hope everything works out, and i'm sorry to hear about your loss, if you need anyone to talk to, yet feel bad for continueing to post on here feel free to email me, and i'll listen and try to help the best I can.

Thanks lauren for being so supportive... Its just I grew apart from all my friends since I graduated this summer.. I have not talked to any of them since june and honetly I do not know whats wrong with me.. But I really have no desire to even talk to them. Its just I went through soo much since we graduated (i moved out.. Got my own apartment.. Got married.. Started a new job.. Started college.. Got pregnant.. Had a miscarriage..) all that in like 5 months so I have noone I can really relate to. All my friends still live at home.. Dont work.. No boyfriend.. Or not serious relationships.. No kids.. I mean we're complete opposites now. So I really want nothing to do with them. Thats why I love coming on this site.. I feel accepted here and get sooo much great advise and support. I wanna get to know everyone a little better. Im gonna ask my hubby to hook up our scanner so that I can post some pics...
Well ill probably be on and off all day today while im at work till 4...

I know exactly what you mean, I dropped out of school a month into my sophmore year (i became homeschooled, even though I really didn't do any schooling) I became engaged to dave when I was 16, so all my "friends" became so distant. My ex best friend ( we were best friends for 7 years) is still out partying everynight, like we used to. But to me it's like you've been parting for 6 years, when are you going to grow up?? I'm happy just sitting home having family time, and I also love this site, all the girls on here are so nice and welcoming.
