29 Wks And 3 Days Pregnant Posted: 12-08-04 12:04pm
I am fast aproaching my 30th week of
pregnancy and i've noticed in the last two
weeks that I have been having some sharp
pains in my cervical region off and on.
They do not last long, but they do catch
my breath. I was wondering if it was
possible that my cervix may be already
dilating? It happens right below my
pubic bone and usually when I am walking
or doing something other than sitting.
Also, i've heard that most pregnant women
in there 3rd trimester have problems with
constipation, i'm completely the opposite.
I have problems with having an upset
stomach. Is that normal? Because I
read somewhere that upset stomachs and
diarrhea were common signs of labor being
close.

Ok, i'm not preg, but noticed no one has
answered you yet. My guess is brauxen
hix. (i don't even know how to spell
it!). You may have them up until you go
into labor, or they may go away...

Yes it could be braxton hicks, but it
could also be you are loosing your mucus
plug and they baby is engaging in the
birth canal which will eventually start
the dialation process. Also the sharp
pains are normal and if they intensify to
were they are imbarable call your doctor.
He might just want to bring you in to do a
checkup just to make sure you arent
dilating. Good luck and keep us posted

You can't feel your cervix dialating. It
may be braxton hicks or many other things.
Check with your doctor if you still need
some assurance.

Hmmm. I'm 32wks and have been feeling the
same way. I've been getting upset
stomachs and those pains just like you
have. I'm just seeing if the get worse
and i'm going to the doctor next week so
i'll let him know then. And if they get
worse call him sooner.

I know some of you may think i'm crazy but
this is my first pregnancy and I don't
know what to expect. I know what braxton
hicks feel like and they don't feel like
this. Plus they usually happen in my
lower stomach or back, not down there.
I'm due to be at the Dr. On monday so I
will ask her then, but I am kinda hoping
he will be here soon even though he's not
due til the middle of february.
Plus, since I was 5 months pregnant he has
been in the transverse lie and hasn't
changed position. Is this going to be a
problem?

Im 33w and man oh man...I have had those a
few times. All it is, is baby settling
down and pushing on the pelvic region. I
had those with my first son. I was in
tears one time. I had to literally stop
walking and squeeze my legs together (as
if I had to pee badly) before it would
stop. I haven't had them as often,
.Y.E.T. But I still about 6.5 weeks left
