Ive been bleeding for a week now. At
first it was kind of light with a lot of
brown and was on and off at times. Now
for the last two days it has gotten
heavier (dark red) and it looks as if I
have my period, but I dont. Im not due
till next wednesday and I dont have any
cramping or bloating. Im on ortho tri
cyclen lo and I have spoken to my gyno
this week and she said its just
breakthrough bleeding (she also thinks
maybe the paxil is somewhat interffering
with my estrogen, but shes not sure) she
also took a urine and culture test and
they came back neg. So I dont have an
infection. She is switching my pills to
ortho tri cyclen. She said I could skip
the placebo's and just start taking those,
but im not going too because I dont want
to mess up my body even more. My breast
are swollen and my lower back is killing
me (like they do the week before my
period), but my breasts dont hurt
(normally hurt a to some extent) and
aren't as swollen, but drs. Have told me
paxil reduces pms symptoms, so im guessing
thats causing that. I have been more
tired this week, which is natural when
pmsing but I also think its from bleeding
for a week straight (period only last 3
maybe 4 days).
Does this kind of breakthrough bleeding
sound normal?
I had an abdominal and pelvic ct scan done
yesterday, so im guessing if anything is
wrong it will show up.

You may have a little endometriosis and
the only way to find that out is a
laproscopy they can't detect endo through
blood tests or ultra sounds only with a
scope. Endometriosis can cause heavy
bleeding and if it is just a mild case you
will have little cramping. Ask your
doctor about endometriosis.

I dont know what it is. Today I was
still bleeding, but tonight, the blood on
my pad looked black, and a "black" clot
came out. Does that mean its ending?

Not really I had blood clots when I bled
and some days I never thought I would ever
stop bleeding. Maybe you should see
another doctor. I go for a hysterectomy
on dec16 but it's not for everyone.
