Do You Think We Should?
Posted: 12-10-04 17:19pm

Okay so I talked to steve last night about all thats been going on and for once he actually really listened. We both know he can't cut down on hours at the hospital for various reasons, but he said maybe we should get a nanny. Now i've never wanted to get a nanny. I want to be there to experience every little thing about my children, I just feel that if someone else is there to look after them I may miss something. Steve understands this and he compromised and said maybe if we only had one for a couple days a week, just so I could have enough time to rest and do things for me. I admit that the idea is sounding more and more appealing. I just feel guilty about leaving my children with a stranger, especially the younger ones and the baby, even if it is just for a little while. What do you girls think?

Me too, a big ".H.E.L.L. Y.E.S". You will be a better mom with more rest and some time alone. Go for it girl.

It's just finding someone I could trust enough to leave my children with. You read all these horror stories about babysitters and nannies beating and mistreating children. I know that doesn't happen all the time but when it comes to my kids i'm very protective, as every mother is i'm sure. I just couldn't live with myself if something like that every happened.

Well, I was a nanny for 6 years, and I was awesome if I do say so myself. Laughing . I recommend you get names from your church or a local highschool. The lady I nannied for found me through one of my highschool teachers.

Thanks for the tip. One of steve's collegues has a daughter thats interested in nannying too and he really wants us to meet with her and see how she interacts with the children. Hopefully things work out with her. I've met her and I think shes a very sweet girl so I know i'd feel comfortable having her around. But if for some reason it doesn't all work out i'll definitely look into what you suggested.
