Well you're not alone. I had the exact
same problem. I've tried every deoderant
out there and nothing seemed to work. I
was talking to some people about it and
they suggested drysol (not sure if you
tried it yet) well, it was the best thing
i've ever used! It worked! Go to your
pharmacist and ask them for drysol (its
kind of expensive..Well$25 cdn) you'll
have to put it on every night before bed
(make sure you have an old shirt on
because it will dye your shirt) and after
about a month you can use it every other
night, then every third night, etc etc.
It starts to work after your first week.
Its awesome. If this doesnt work, ask
your pharmacists for somethng stronger.

Be careful with drysol, whatever you do do
not put it on fresh shaved armpits!!!!
Also it tends to make your armpits turn a
grayish colour that's not dirt. It might
burn or irriate your armpits once in a
while, I used it for about 6 months before
getting fed up with it, it does work
though.
Just a pain in the ass.

I have that problem i've had it ever since
I moved here to washington.....Can you go
anywhere like any pharmacy to get the

doctor to get it? Thank you for your
help!

though I followed all the directions
carefully (i didn't usd right after
shaving my armpits) I still broke out in
huge welts!!! I have heard that it has
worked for other people but just beware

There are other options too. Botox
injected into the underarms is a temporary
way, a few times a year , removal of the
sweat glands, and something called ets
where they cut the nerves that controls
the sweating, these are permanent, and are
covered under insurance usually.

It will not affect your cooling system if
you have them removed? Cause I also have
this problem I change shirts atleast 3
times a day even when its 30 degrees
outside

Sweat Gland Removal Posted: 11-09-04 19:00pm
I had my sweat glands removed when I was
17. It worked vvery well for a very long
time, until they grew back. Took about 25
years, but they are back. The doctor
warned me when I had them removed that
this would happen at some point, but to
get that long from the removal was worth
it!! And yes, if you have them removed,
the sweat still needs to escape, it will
come out somewhere else---for me it was my
forehead. Doctor said it is different for
everyone. Kind of like a little surprise
when it's all done. Hope this helps.

you mean you started to sweat out of your
forehead after the operation? I sweat bad
out of my forehead not really under my
arms. What can I do to stop this? What
does this operation involve?

Treatment for underarm sweating is a lot
easier than anything else. You can
removal the sweat glands there, but not in
any other body parts that sweat. There is
a sugery called ets, a thoracic surgeon
goes into your chest with a little camera
and clips the nerve that makes you sweat,
and they clip a different nerve for
whatever body part sweats. Many people
jump into this prcedure without hearing
the bad side effects. It makes you have
reflex sweating, (re-routing the sweat
somewhere else, and usually 10 times worse
than the original spot) and makes you feel
very cold and constant wet all the time.
Your body cant cool itself like a normal
person. You sweat from the waist down
and burn up on top. Some people do have
success with it, but its like playing
russian roulette, you cannot predict how
the outcome will be. Some people say it
ruined their life..! I had this surgery
booked and after reading the horror
stories, I cancelled to go with the sweat
gland removal, because reflex sweating is
much less, and it doesnt mess with your
nervous system. There are medications
you can take for sweating, but they dont
seem too successful. Do you sweat alot
from yuor forehead just when you eat? Or
constantly?

I sweat when it is really hot, way more
than a normal person. I also sweat the
most when my anxiety is high. I get
nervous and sweat. When I start to sweat
my anxiety peaks and I get anxiety about
sweating so much it makes it worse. It
sucks. I take zoloft and busbar for the
anxiety.

If its just mostly from anxiety,
medication would probably work well. The
problem with most people is they need to
take it everyday, and they bcome immune to
it, and need to raise their doses. In
your situation maybe you could get it to
take for days when you may be more nervous
and dont want to sweat? That way you
wouldnt become immune to it and it wouldnt
stop working after a while. Also, I know
they use botox in underarms and hands and
sometimes even feet for sweating, im not
sure but maybe they can inject it into the
forehead for sweating, much like its
normal use, for wrinkles. It last a few
months, but it expensive. Look into it!
Search hyperhidrosis online and youll find
tons of people with different sweating
problems and all the ways they treat it.
