Question(s) Abotu Genital Warts
Posted: 12-13-04 18:37pm

Within the past week I have visited the doctor and he told me the spreading bumps in my genital region are genital warts. He didnt seem like he totally new everythign about them since I have found research that goes against what he said.

Here is my story. I am a 22 year old male and I have only had sex with one partner. We have been together for over a year and she is now out of state and I havent seen her for 3-4 months. Also we have been having sex for almost a year. Niether of us has had issues liek this before. These bumps I have are redish brown bumps they started abotu 2 inches above my penis in my pubes. I also have one where my groin meets my thigh on each side. I have recently found one a little below my belly button. (2 inches)

here are my questions:
1.) I have never read anywhere that genital warts are in other places bseside penis, scrotum, and mayb inner thigh, but never near belly button. Could my doctor be wrong?

2.) is theer any way I coudl have contracted thsi disease form somewhere besides my girlfriend. (non sexually) because we had unprotected sex a year before I got these bumps/warts. Assuming no cheating on her part.

3.) if it could be something different does anyone have any ideas I could research to find out more?

If you need more information just ask I will be chqckign this frequently.

Thanks for the help in advance,

Your doctors is probably not wrong. I have done a lot of research on std's. If she is the only one you have been with most likely you got it from her. With warts they may not show up for awhile, it could take up to a year for it to show up. Have you messed around with anyone else. Like as far as oral or anything like that? People don't realize that if you have a cut on your finger you could contract the disease. I would go to the doctor and get all of that taken care of. You will have it forever , but you may not see it again for awhile after you get them all removed. I am sorry that you are going through this I know it has to be hard. Well, I hope that I helped out a little bit. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask me.

Ask for "limiquimod", this is a salve that can cure the diseased parts of your skin entirely. By activating certain cells in your body that can correct the dna damage. Any other treatment will only cure the symptoms, but never destroy the infected body cells.
