Rh Negative
Posted: 12-17-04 18:52pm

I think that this is pretty rare. But I have it. My blood type is a negative so in my first two pregnancies I got this shot at 28 weeks and then after labor. Well with this pregnancy I started spotting at 6 weeks and spotted for over a month along with cramping, so then when they found out my blood status they gave me that shot and I havent spotted since or had cramping. You can go here for a good article

http://www.Babycenter.Com then do a search for rh status.

(sorry. They dont let you link to articles)

Yeah I realized that, you have to go to the main site and do a search for rh status. I added a link to their main site.

Yeah, they give you one if you bleed, one at 28 weeks and then another one right after you give birth. And the shot hurts really bad. They give it to you in your hip and then that whole side of your hip and the leg on that side hurt for like one or two days when you walk. Plus you have to wait 30 minutes after you get it before they will let you leave the doctors office. But you have to do it.

Um..I'm .Rh neg and I have had the shot 3 times. 28w w. My first and one right after. It didnt hurt at all. Just itched. I didnt have to stay either. I took the shot and was able to leave. Same w/ this baby and it didnt hurt.

In no way does this shot hurt unless you cant handle needles .O.R. They shot it in your nerve. I had no problems walking either. My cheek just itched. .L.O.L.

Im thinkin' so. L.O.L I had my shot right the butt cheek. She did make sure when isaid it itched that it wasnt a side effect to hurt me. She did say nurses who give it, sometimes hit the syatic nerve (sp)
