Hi. My name is buck and I have tinea
corporis. I have large lesions on my
lower stomach area on both sides of my
navel.
The infection has already spread all over
my stomach, sides, lower back, chest,
around my neck, both arms, legs, and are
now begining to form on my hands, face
(i'm pretty sure), and feet. I didn't
notice it before but i've had lesions
around my jock area and it's already
killed off a lot of hair around it! It's
driving me crazy. I saw my doctor about a
three weeks ago and told him to give me
the best thing he's got (desperate and
didn't care about the price) he gave me a
prescription called grifulvin v micr 500
mg (15 pills). So I took one pill per day
for 15 days and didn't see any
improvements. I went back to the clinic
but was unable to see the doctor becasue
he had too many patients to take care of.
I saw a nurse instead. I told her that I
took all 15 pills and didn't see any
improvements. I figured I hadn't taken
enough and wanted a refill. She told me
that was the maximum dosage and that the
antibiotics should be in my system working
to get rid of it. It's been 3 days since
and i'm still suffering and have not seen
any improvements. I'm pretty sure it's
going to show up on my face or scalp
anytime now. That's what i'm afraid of.
My doctor went on vacation and won't be
back until january 18th 2005 so i'm
posting on this forum in hopes of finding
some answers to these questions:
is this medicine grifulvin really an
antibiotic?
How long will it be in my system
working?
How long will it take before I see
resutls?
Yesterday I noticed very small black dots
appearing on my arms, hands, legs, etc.
Does anybody know what this is and is it
related
to tinea corporis?
