Hi
a new user from a remote and hot climate
in australia.
I was dgd with sle in 97 at the age of 27
although it is believed I had early
symptoms at 18. Luckily for me I managed
to have two healthy boys early whom are
now 13 & 12. I am currently under an
immunologist who has been pretty good for
the past 2 years but as I live 1500kms
away from him and have to fly for appts
every four months. I am about to change
meds from pred to meth or imuran so I can
have a better quality of life at my
request. I live in temps of 40+ degrees
throughout the majority of the year and my
family (-me)

spends their
recreation time on our boat. I am now
unable to tolerate any sun or heat
exposure, so I spend my days locked away
in the airconditioning looking at all four
walls... I am desperate to have a life
outside of the viscious circle of lupus.
Does any one have any experience with
living in extreme climates with lupus and
how do you deal with it and also
experience with methotrexate or imuran?
Cheers kelly may
