Hello everyone ill try to keep this
suckers as possible I had a one time
episode of unprotected vaginal sex (i am
the male) back in may of this year with
someone who I believe to have had hiv.
About 2 weeks after the encounter I came
down with a high grade fever, soar throat
and diarrhea that lasted about 4 or 5 days
and I started to feal better then a few
days later my soar throat came back and I
looked inside of my mouth and I had white
spots on my tonsiles, cheeks , the hangy
ball thing in my mouth (i dont know what
its called) swollen lymphnodes under my
chin this went on for about 2 or 3 weeks
when I finaly went to the er and the
doctor did a mono spot and a strep test
both negative he also took a blood count
and came back in and said that my count
was a "little high" and that it was
mostlikly bactiral and perscribed anti
biotics the day after I went to the er I
had another lymphnode on the left side of
my neck where it meets the upper back it
was huge and very painfull to the touch
then the next day I developed a dry cough
that wasnt too bad but it was there (if
that makes any sence) durring this whole
illness I felt rundown and I had some
joint / mussle pain after about a week on
the anti-biotics I started to feel better
and I wasnt worried about 2 months after
that illness I started having headaches
and they soon became cronic I now have
headaches all the time I wake up with them
and they hardly ever stop and about 10
days ago I started to have a soar throat
again and I took a flashlight and looked
at the inside of my mouth/throat and I
have white spots on the back of my throat
and a few white spots in my mouth that
returned after I brushed them away and
around that same time I hit my elbow/
forarm on a door not too hard but not
softly either and the bruse is huge and
painfull ive never brused like this
before. I have not yet tested due to the
fact that I did not have insureance at the
time I have recently gotten insureance
through my job and I went for a checkup my
doctor took a fullblood count and did the
normal checkups and what not I did not
mention my fears of hiv to him because I
do not want to lose my insureance due to a
pre exsisting condision bs that the
insureance companys pull but all my
results came back normal the soar throat
and the brusing started about 3 weeks
after I had the bloodwork done so do you
think its possible that I am a fast
progressor? Im sure I have hiv and I
know only a test can prove it but
sometimes you just know (again I hope this
makes sence to you guys & gals) I just
need to know if I can hang in there for a
few more months and then get tested and
begin treatment without lossing my
insureance? Please any advice would be
helpfull I am very scared and im only 24
years old and I dont want to die yet I
want to get married and have kids this is
so depressing I dont know what to do I
think I am slowly driving my self insane
with all this stuff....

Oh man that is really sad! Wow, i've done
alot of research on the symptoms of
hiv/aids and you've had almost all of
them. It is possible that you just have a
cold or something, but I would still go
get the test.
I too fear that I might be hiv+. I
haven't had any white spots, or swollen
glands, but im still nervious. Its been
about 3 years sense I had unprotected sex.
Right now i'm feeling fine, but im too
scared to get the test. I feel like, if
im hiv+, there is no help. Even with the
tearments, it just slows down the
infection, but doesnt elimate it. I feel
like if im going to die of it, I might as
well just go.
My advice for you is to think about what
you want to do with the rest of your life.
I keep thinking about all the things im
probably going to miss if I have it, and
i've lost tons of sleep over it.
You should go to your doctor and just get
the test. Me, being 15, I really can't do
anything because I don't want my parents
knowing. You, being 24, I would try
something such as www.Tstd.Org and get a
private test just to confirm it. You
never know, all this worring could be
nothing...
Good luck.

Get Tested Man. Get Tested. Posted: 12-30-04 03:10am
You are experiencing what may look like
the symptoms of hiv, but only a test will
confirm that. This is important, as it
will give you some piece of mind, and also
allow for treatment to begin. Honestly
man, the sooner the treatment begins the
longer u live. So, dont go dying on me
kid... Get tested. This could, you may
find, be all in your head.
Also- a good website that I strongly
reccommend is http://www.Thebody.Com
doctors who answer you questions.

Hey, i'm an hiv tester/counselor at a
community health center in new york state.
If you happen to be in this state hiv
testing and counseling is free and
confidential. You don't need insurance,
and you don't even need to put that
information down! I know it must be
difficult wondering about this, but the
fact of the matter is, if you want to live
a relatively healthy life, you need to get
tested as soon as possible. If you don't
want to go to the nearest health center,
there's an hiv hotline you can call, that
it's anonymous. Hiv slowly degrades your
immune system until the ct-4 count goes
below 200. When that happens, you have
aids. But there are medications for an
hiv positive individual to keep their
white blood cell count up in order to
defend their body from other sicknesses.
For women who are pregnant and are afraid
they are hiv positive, there are
medications they can take that helps them
give birth to an hiv negative child if
they go to the doctor on time. But the
time to take action is now, go get tested!
